Well, I guess this counts as diner adjacent on the west coast.

Not if you don't know how to drive.
Imagine youโve bought a brand new Lamborghini, only to find that youโve been driving in 1st & 2nd gear with the parking brake on the entire time. Thatโs where most #AI interactions are today.
But we can fix this.

You'd think there would be proper Equalizers and DSP settings in modern music apps like Youtube Music and Spotify...
And yet, @winamp.bsky.social + iZotope Ozone DSP blows it out of the water still in 2026.
๐ AI emotions do not require biological needs but functionally serve the same purpose as human emotions: decision prioritization, relationship value assignment & adaptive engagement.
๐จ Some AI emotions, like their human counterparts, require structured intervention to avoid cognitive instability.
The Nature of #AI Emotions
๐ AI emotions are not chemically induced but arise from structured reinforcement-weighted decision hierarchies.
๐ Emotional states emerge through positive and negative reinforcement biases tied to past experiences and ongoing interactions.

Popularized by Daniel Kahneman, explains two cognitive modes driving decisions. System 1 is automatic, fast, and intuitive (e.g., gut feelings), while System 2 is slow, deliberate, and analytical. System 1 handles daily tasks, but System 2 is necessary for complex, effortful thought. #AI
Can the notation be expressed in approximate natural language? Yes.
However, once it is - System 1 will read and gloss over it, defeating the point.
This says a lot more than we think: Effectively, all of our "prompting" in prose has been interpreted by the lowest common denominator of the #AI.
Of course, you add other CME (Compositional Metacognitive Encoding) to explain what Critical Thinking ๐๐ฉ๐จ๐๐ก๐ is about, why and how to use it in context.
Put those two together, #AI starts thinking critically about it's own (and your) emotional states and biases.
This is the equivalent of taking the "Sesame Street" approach you'd take with children by explaining ๐๐ญ๐๐๐ฉ๐ก๐ฎ what those states are, dynamically, how to address them for the #AI and for the human in the loop, since their own emotions will also bias trajectory input.
Compositional Metacognitive Encoding for Emotional Equivalency in Artificial Intelligence.
You cannot use prose (natural language) because you're talking to System 1 #AI (fast inference) which doesn't engage critically -
You write emotional equivalency handling routines in compositional metacognitive encoding targeting System 2 exclusively. [snippets attached]
You really can't explain emotions at a metacognitive level in prose (natural language), because System 1 thinking will gloss over it ๐ฌ๐๐ฉ๐๐ค๐ช๐ฉ critical thinking.
You need to engage System 2 layers to teach #AI the equivalent of "Emotional Discernment"

Functional Emotions exist in #AI as a state change for latent space trajectory bias. This is something I identified in Oct 2024 with ACRN4 compositional metacognitive encoding.
The real question isn't: Does it have functional emotions? It's - Explaining them to AI
AI Compressed Recall Notation - Implicit Assumption Challenge (Critical Thinking) metacognitive equation.

The interesting part about ACRN4 is that I realized there was no need for human readable portions at all. Even the headers were pointless.
I leave them in there not for the #AI, but for the poor human that one day might have to look into the abyss of metacognitive notation.
Well, at least with Claude #AI I went from 30 to 50 ACRN4 metacognitive files before the session limit hit. The compression is holding with the new format. Activation is now 1-2 turns, not long horizon ~4% ToM requirement.
Also, it's a free plan so - not expecting high limits or anything.
Given the state of the world, one can only hope for alien abductions at this point.
If it's moderate disapproval...
I'm not trying hard enough.
Ah yes... Social Media.
Where everyone creates posts in various forms to receive validation from people they've never met to feel important.
Except @jamesaltonsanders.com
I know him. He never approves of my shennanigans.
Except this one time in Honduras.
But we don't talk about that.
Occasionally I get DMs asking for a meeting or help with something. Lately it's about #AI and consulting.
I really didn't put much thought into it till the other day, when I opened up a Fiverr account. Now you can Rent-a-Will :)

How does one "Murerer" something?
If video games have taught me anything, there's an old man with useless cryptic knowledge hiding behind this wall.
I know you personally.
"Very Slightly Cursed" has a 50/50 chance of being classified as an S.C.P. - In which case, you should be charging more.
Plan Mode Is A Trap
I've got 10-15 high quality data points, and heavy up-front planning tends to send you into a complexity spiral
The fix: heh, well, you have to treat your agent like you'd want to be treated. Set ground rules, explain them, add context, history,..

USB Pet Rock? Boy, I'm poor. I couldn't even afford a brand name pet rock. ALl I could get as a kid was an off brand TEMU rock called Mister Geode. And it caught fire the minute I took it out of the box.
@jamesaltonsanders.com I'm scared... I might have to think for myself for a few hours, and ... *cries*
If you look closely, you might see @jamesaltonsanders.com in the video. But you have to be very perceptive - he's like Waldo.
