Hmm, so I am not organized. I have abandoned projects - but they don't live on a list, and certainly not an alphabetical list.

I'll start organizing myself better in the future.

I love bringing the forest & trees into the discussion. Important to touch grass and keep it real!

What does being an "Organized Game Developer" mean for you?

3 weeks ago 3 1 4 0

I make games.

Make games requires solving an endless stream of problems.

I am a professional problem solver.

The biggest problem I face is making sales; whether that is a game worth buying, or getting people to know about the game in the first place... 🐔 or 🥚??

Depends on the game, and what hard means - if it were cars that have meaningfully different handling/characteristics I’d say no. If hard is always additive and includes prior levels then yes.

This I suspect is very true for the first few weeks of automated data.

I am fairly certain it can be too easy to not actually process.

While annoying to grab the metrics manually, I find it a good process so I can actually take a moment to process them.

I’d be curious how you feel on this front. I don’t think the glance at pre pulled metrics would quite be the same.

Tomorrow I will share what January 2026 has been like as an indie developer when I stream the business review.

How much I earned, how much I spent and what lessons I learned to be a better #GameDev / #IndieDev will be discussed.

I admire the blog posts consistency, something I've never been able to manage!

Lots of things...

1. I prefer the chase cam, but there was no HUD on the chase cam, I think I'd prefer chase & HUD.
2. Though I'd also likely prefer HUD to be more static on the screen, rather than "attached" to vehicle.
3. I focus on racing games and stream, if you'd like more feedback drop in.

Excluding tonight, I can't remember the last time I bought something on pure impulse...

I may have thrown $30 in a bin, but my inner child is overly excited!

Have to say I don't even feel bad when my face shows annoyance in this situation.

The example that comes to my mind is the Coca Cola winter commercials of old, they were almost MORE about the winter spirit and happy holidays, and sure it's product placement as a polar bear gets a drink...

I totally agree. Ads is just like "your need, our product", and sometimes just "our product".

Commercial is like ... a story, or a mini-world, or ... something more. I don't yet know what that more is, because idk if 'no jingle/joke' fits either.

@ottermakegames.bsky.social gave me an interesting thought...

"There is a difference between a commercial and an ad, I don't know what it is yet but..."

This feels mind bending. It feels completely true, yet I also can't describe it further.

Rushcremental on Steam An incremental game about scavenging scrap and drag racing for all the territories in the wasteland.

How Not to Release a Demo:

Prepare the build, prepare the promo content, Open Steam, press "Release" ... Have your power go out.

I'm trying to tell the world that store.steampowered.com/app/2695500/... is coming to Steam and now has a Demo!

I'm on a phone with LTE because ... my power went out.

This is the most niche project I could do - correcting the graphics of the trucks from the original Monster Truck Madness. Trying to keep the "made in Deluxe Paint" style, but more correct to the real trucks. #retrogaming #simracing

Attention Indie Devs!

I just need 15 seconds ... of your game footage! A lot of people jumped on the 15s video trend, so I thought it would be cool to make a compilation to help indies get some visibility.

The anti-spam key is "kook".
