Yes, my thought is if it was my baby, I wouldn't have taken the baby out at all at a week old, but that's also a privileged position. Some people *can't* stay home with a baby. Especially someone with other kids who need to be taken to activities. I just wish we did better as a society.

It's sad because people want to do things to protect themselves and their families, but don't understand how to do it, and society isn't trying to help. We should be adding ventilation and air purification everywhere to limit risks. We should push sick people to mask and/or stay home. But we don't.
I saw someone yesterday with a tiny brand new baby (less than a week old) in a very public place with lots of people, especially young kids. I watched her use sanitizer three times in an hour. Someone who was obviously trying to protect the tiny baby. It makes me cringe, though.
No, he was a dragon man.
I don't understand how they can deport someone to a different country than where they were originally from. That just seems so illogical and wrong I don't get how it's allowed.
And Fetterman.

If I was told to wear a lanyard with that printed on it for work I would quit.
Every. Single. Time.
Note the framing of Vance here as a pious, religious person who is just trying to help his poor beleaguered president and not as a grifter who is legitimately criticizing the pope. This is interesting and I think it shows they're trying to prop him up as a replacement and separate him from the fray.
None of this "let's let bygones be bygones" stuff.
The biggest mistake last time was not prosecuting before the election. We need someone who will say what Hungary's new leader is saying: we're going to prosecute everything they've done that was illegal. It HAS to be a core of what's going on. Tasks forces just to investigate the corruption.
Ugh I'm so sorry. I'm pretty sure my son's cold in January was RSV. I didn't get it tested, but we've had RSV before and it was very similar. Glad it's not as bad as last time. I'm not sure what daughter has, but it isn't acting like RSV. We're hoping it's just a cold. No fever and neg tests so far.
It's not politicized the way other things are, it's obvious corruption that is opposed in the constitution itself and that most Americans don't agree with. It's a good way to show that they're corrupt agents working for personal gain, and can lead into other areas of corruption we're seeing, too.
I think a good starting place for dems to really hit hard on going after the corruption and investigating the current admin is all the financial stuff. Violation of emoluments clauses, bribery, stock market/polymarket fixing to get rich. Those things we can see are happening that aren't legal.
There are unlimited genuine problems with higher education that all should be fixed, many of which Zimmerman mentions in article. But the main reason MAGA hate higher education is because of the good things it succeeds at doing, like promoting critical thinking and making citizens of all races smart
It's almost 11:30 and I haven't had any caffeine. ๐ฉ
Ah, gotcha. Yeah, there are some inherent risks with uncooked stuff for sure.
YES.
Trump and his sons have enriched themselves by over 4 Billion dollars since he came into office
This is by FAR the most corrupt administration ever
I think they would do worse than nothing and actually prevent anything that could help.
I don't generally worry about this wrt covid because I am pretty certain I read that there hasn't been fomite spread shown for it, so I'm not too worried about ingesting it. FWIW, my N of 1 eats sushi often and hasn't gotten sick from it.
I am very tired.
I know I shouldn't worry yet and maybe it's nothing and if it wasn't this week, the one week I can't be sick, I'd not be nearly as stressed, but I am having a hard time right now. I don't want my kids sick. I don't want to be sick. I don't want covid. I want to be able to exercise and keep running.
And frankly, how frustrating it will be if I DO get it because I go so out of my way to avoid it. The one time I had it, it was because my husband brought it home. I managed to dodge it in September. If I get it now, it will be a kid bringing it home. I was sick for two and a half months last time.๐ญ
More than anything, if it IS covid, a) I almost certainly already have it because she was running around without a mask earlier because she said she felt better, b) I CAN'T get sick right now, c) I can't express how frustrated I'll be if she has covid twice this year when we actually try not to.
Kiddo's throat was feeling better and I thought okay, this was just a weird fluke and everything is fine now, and then for the last couple of hours she's had a runny nose that is getting worse. I know that's possibly nothing, but I also know a new strain of covid is hitting kids really hard.
At this point I think it's a requirement.
Well, at least the BBC is covering this.
I don't have any at the moment, but I'll get some orange juice later. She's had strep a few times and this really could be strep, but I'm not going to take her to the doctor until tomorrow, I think. Her temp is only a little high (99.5) and usually with strep she has a proper fever.
