On my walk: Cedar Waxwings perched on a Sweetgum tree dripping with Spanish moss. I love their Mohawks and black Zorro masks. They’re wintering over on the island, descending out of nowhere in big loud flocks and taking off just as fast.

On my walk: birds at the beach. I love the way they all face into the wind to keep their feathers from ruffling. It also lets them use the wind to take off quickly if they need to. 🪶

On my walk: a cotton candy explosion of pink muhly grass tucked in with all the golds and rusts of the beach in fall. 🍁

On my walk: a gorgeous gulf fritillary heading farther south as the cold weather moves in.

Look up! The full beaver supermoon, the brightest full moon of the year. 🌕

On my walk: a sky full of pink and blue stripes.

On my walk: the Belt of Venus, that magical pink light at the horizon, and a sliver of moon. 🌙

Three on one plant! Cloudless sulphurs, these sweet yellow butterflies, are everywhere right now and just beginning to travel south for the winter. 🦋
