Literally can’t wait for prints of this 👀 👀

Ah thank you! Was sad that the AAS archive didn’t go back further, thinking they must have the data (except for the missing part 👀) and now IA isn’t able to snapshot the website anymore
If you don't mind my asking, how are you getting the TT number for January? When I checked AAS archive I only saw 10 posted from Jan 1-31. Not that 10 is better of course...
There's still a really worrying decline in 2026 accelerating from a smaller decline in 2025. Admissions cycles have been brutal lately, backing all the way up into REUs (do those still exist??) becoming extremely competitive. I no longer even know what advice to give people only 5-10 years junior.
I only did this because I was curious what a direct comparison of March across the board would look like. Looking at Jan for all years wasn't possible. 2020 isn't here because March data were not available. I stuck as close as possible to the same snapshot date on the internet archive.
As someone who applied to jobs and advised students during four of these years, I know the job market has been trash and is getting worse. I saw postdocs declining from 183-32 and TT from 47-4 and thought HWHAT. But those numbers are comparing Jan '24 to Mar '26. Here is a direct comparison of March
A table displaying data from the AAS job register available on the internet archive. The date of the snapshot used is noted, with the goal of using the snapshot in each year closest to today's date. The number of jobs in each category available on each date is listed. Outreach jobs were not added as a category until 2025. Data from 2020 has been excluded because no March data are available. The data show a significant decline in 2026, with 2025 showing a possible slight decline in certain categories.
I assumed this was a sum or avg of Jan-March, but comparing Jan ('20-'24) to March ('25-'26) is a bit apples to oranges given when certain jobs are typically posted. Here is March in the snapshot closest to today's date excl. '20 due to no data. A recent decline, but a notably less depressing story.
Thanks for checking! I think I’ll wait for something else to come along 😊
Do you happen to know if it’s regular/blue moonstone or rainbow? On the hunt for blue lately. Also the exact size? Thanks!
A2?
Stones in B5? A bypass? Curious how big it could go, thanks!
Ugh that’s gorgeous
Oh no it’s my entire personality…at least the badge ribbons would warn people
Also I'm 90% sure the onyx is meant to be a total solar eclipse and I'm having a nerd moment 🤩
Ugh the spinny table is so good, I feel honored 😂 I'll take the onyx and the opal!
Omg yes 😅😅
Does the printing on the onyx go all the way around? Thanks for the pic!
How much each for that one and the two 7s?
Is that an onyx? Had never heard of iolite!
If you're still going, could I know more about these, please? Also if you know the exact size, i.e. are they any bigger than their category?
Snagged! Just wanted to check if I needed it adjusted or not. Thanks!
Is this one actually adjustable as the listing says? It didn’t look like the type of setting that would be unless it’s open on the back 👀
What do you meeeeean @cyan.com put puzzles in the Riven calendar because of course they did 💀💀. I expected nothing less!!
Aurora borealis? At this time of year, at this time of day, localized entirely within Rime?
Also I love the memes! Please make more memes about MAUVE
So glad that the paper has been useful! That’s exactly what we wanted. Your series has been really good! Excited to see the next installments and hopefully a future version on your cohort’s mission!
I looked at the photo before I read the post and thought “I swear that’s MAUVE with Bernie Sanders”…delighted to see it *is* MAUVE! Had not seen before that @astrobites.bsky.social is covering our paper!! That’s my (and 17 other people’s) baby!
It’s bath bombs! Highly anticipating a future Cyan Version™️ with Lego mini figures, tiny puzzles to solve, etc. Myst-themed bath products also accepted.
It’s actually bath bombs and not anything Riven-related 😅 but now I’m thinking about how cool it would be if each day had clues of a big puzzle to solve
