Lady at the book club asked, very genuinely, how one (referring to me) could enjoy reading horror. What would draw one to horror. And I sat there baffled. Tempted to say "because it's awesome", but not knowing of a better answer than Because I'm A Special Girl. Because I'm A Bit Of A Freak I Guess.

Fabricated Despair, #MurderFabrication 's Despair AU; at least one character helps the main antagonist out of undying loyalty. The others probably won't say it outright, but they fear them.
I wouldn't say they're not loyal, though; even they don't know why they help them at times.

In Fabricated Despair, the character who could be seen as "the main villain" is EXTREMELY likely to have someone else do the job for him. It's pretty obvious from the get go: he rarely gets his hands dirty. When he *does*, though, that's when you know something twisted is going down.

Keeping it to #MurderFabrication 's "Despair AU" Fabricated Despair: though in the way the antagonist speaks of who's closest to being their "second in command", it may sound unclear how they feel, their actions make it clear that they trust them with their life.
