true, when i see it framed as something we might do after we drastically reduce emissions and "put out the fire", it makes a bit more sense. but it also sounds kind of sci-fi, because that's basically talking about re-terraforming earth in some far-off decade. in the meantime, we still de-terraform.

it's way more thermodynamically efficient to just not add those CO2 particles to the atmosphere in the first place, rather than spend a bunch of extra energy later on getting them back out. so the whole thing has to be a fossil fuel industry scam, right?

industrialized CDR seems nonsensical to me just in terms of thermodynamics laws. the energy you would need to implement & maintain CFR would have to have minimal emissions (or there would be no point) but that energy would currently be better used just replacing high-emissions enegy sources instead.
