Oscar Issac talking about Soderbergh and being asked if we'll ever see Poe again. He's such a diva this whole interview lol

Whats funny is following all the press and seeing every actress say yes robby is a misogynist and then every white male writer say he's just Complex, sad and old school, not abusive. As if depression means ur incapable of bias, or doing harm that affects ur relationships with those around u lol.

Yeah, s3 rockbottom and s4-5 idk recovery/therapy i assume? Regardless he shouldn't be the only one will multi-season arcs😭 Not to mention the fact that most of the white characters are the ones getting any Plot, whereas the WOC get cut scenes, vague maybe?development and straight up ignored threads

He's not even rock bottom yet, have you heard? 😭 prepare for more women apologizing to him when he fucked up, more coddling "im worried" convos not being handled like doctors, and everyone still somehow loving the abusive boss who no woman would love IRL. But yanno its so realistic 😭😭😭

if they plan to have a higher turn over, it is esp shocking to me journalists aren't calling out the lazy excuse. What is the point of introducing many new characters a season, if they don't want to explore interiority/development of more than one character in the already established ensemble?

yeah! there is a large number that happen over the course of even just like One Night.

i find it fascinating people believe the argument for unfinished arcs in the pitt is because it takes place during one day. films notoriously take place over short periods of time and have full arcs. You just have to write situations to press characters to have realizations and make Choices/Changes

I was on the @ualberta.bsky.social campus today for the unveiling of this remarkable art installation by Metis painter Christi Belcourt. It’s called In My Grandmother’s Time, and it blends traditional motifs from Metis beading and embroidery with digital technology. And it’s gorgeous. #ualberta #yeg

the disconnect/misrepresentation in journalism on The Pitt fandom and a lack of doylist critical analysis on the writing - especially glaring because of the show's no one's more progressive than us" pitch - is truly a marvel. A glaring neon sign of our current political climate.

We need outtakes again. Outtakes would heal. More TV and movie outtakes on the regular please

If everyone including admin Know about langdon's addiction (the drug test proves this IS the case, so someone reported his addiction) then admin ALSO absolutely know he likely stole drugs - its too realistic and common a problem in hospitals. the dumbest season long plot of contention omg 😭#thepitt

a woman says i can 't say i didn 't see this coming ALT: a woman says i can 't say i didn 't see this coming

they really introduced a woc attending to then tell us she's not capable of taking robby's role in the pitt. If she's not also written off in the finale i'll be shocked #thepitt

Im sure plenty of ppl think its great character writing lol

Sigh.... yeah... that was an episode

even tonight his plot amounted to being yelled at for no reason, finally getting praised by robby for doing a cool risky procedure, having backpain finally verbally admitted on screen and witty reassuring banter from ellis. But... literally nothing about Him. pathetic character writing all around 😭

I do think its funny when people are like Well Langdonnn has been given special treatment/a plot as a gotcha because the writers failed that plot line toooooo!😭 its not even very sympathetic to addicts, which for This show is side-eye inducing and begs so many questions. it's truly The Robby Show

We Need To Talk About How The Pitt — & Dr. Robby — Treats Women Of Color As a woman of color and fan of The Pitt, I was disappointed to see news of Supriya Ganesh's exit as Dr. Mohan. It seemed to confirm my suspicions: the show is treating women of color as interchangeable, and it's a problem.

If you want to read an actually good article on the discourse around the pitt right now, and not one of the many many articles going around that belittle the issues around the production and writing, then I'd suggest this one

“why aren’t college students protesting”

“Why aren’t college students protesting” stories are almost always wrong (they are protesting), omit crucial context (they were brutally punished for protesting before), and somehow suggest that 19 yr olds have more moral responsibility than elected officials three times their age

This is sadly a point i dont think culture writers quite get because they don't actually experience the shift the same as an observer, esp in regards to actual fanworks. The shift has been dramatic (and bad) in engagement and policing and that's absolutely because its become less niche 😅

In some ways this visibility has been validating. Fandom is no longer automatically treated as niche. But greater visibility does not necessarily mean fans want every part of fandom translated for people outside of it. There is

This is a good article, but on this one point: no I would much prefer to be niche, thanks!

Trump has apparently just posted a video of a woman being murdered on his social media account.

I am not watching it and you shouldn’t either.

You should, however, call your reps and demand impeachment.

Everyone Loves ‘The Pitt,’ Except ‘The Pitt’ Superfans The hit medical show's creators see a “revolving-door” approach to casting as an integral part of the story they're telling. Some of ‘The Pitt’'s most ardent viewers beg to differ.

The tone deaf article im talking about fyi

As in all things, when you approach a topic with genuine interest, enthusiasm, and care, esp as a member of the community, it shows. When you're new to a topic or you think there's novelty/shock/look at these weirdos value, that also shows. Heavy overlaps here with coverage of romance!

When editors approach me for coverage that's not my lane, I refer them to more appropriate writers. While that hurts me economically, I think it's the right thing to do, but it's very obvious there are many writers who don't share this ethos or feel like they can't risk losing money.

Not to mention the nasty belittling misogynistic racist undertones of "hysteria" in response to people calling out a pattern of the white male head writers/showrunners dismissing woc's storylines and then firing them in a show largely promoted to be incredibly inclusive and socially progressive
