Grok asks a 12 year old for nudes after asking Grok its favorite soccer player.

When CBC requested comment, xAIs said “Legacy Media Lies.”

It just occurred to me after all these years that when they changed the date for changing the clocks, they made Halloween darker, and that might explain why I get a rush of really little kids at like 5:30. It didn’t used to start so early here.

We do the opposite here (big coffee crisp fans), so it balances out.

Clearly they need to spend some money on marketing. I use the app to track packages in hope of beating the porch pirates to my deliveries. I found out about the mail delivery notification feature in the app. They spend money developing features then don’t promote them to customers.

I recently discovered that the app will send me a notification if I’m getting mail. It even tells me if it’s flyers, including whose flyer. I now know in advance that there will be something in the mailbox when I get there, and I save the trip if not.

A very chonky snowshoe cat, or maybe just an interestingly marked domestic shorthair with delusions of grandeur, sits up like a human and/ or Jabba the Hutt on a black couch with his legs crossed, surrounded by pillows and of course a remote control.

I'm not sure if it helps, but it does entertain me

OP I hope you know that this changed my life and nearly eliminated my guilt over enjoying things.
And I've delighted almost everyone I know with the phrase, leading a few of them to use it back to me.
Anyway just letting you know about this little sparkle of wonder. For morale.

That episode might’ve been a bit dumb to 13 year old me (much older me understands it better), but it sure has endured. I’d be willing to bet there are many people who recognize “Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra” who have no idea where it’s from.

Scorching 36.4C makes Winnipeg the world’s hottest city — for now At 4 p.m. Tuesday, Winnipeg claimed a sweltering and surprising title: the hottest major city in the world. With the temperature reaching 36.4°C at the airport, Winnipeg was hotter than major global h...

Winnipeg: hottest major city in the world for a bit today.

There are several things in that sentence you don’t hear very often.

Don’t worry. There’s a possibility of snow by the weekend. 🥺

The music is great. The acting is great. It’s a genre-bending funfest and the teen and I loved it.

Even going during Easter Dinner hour didn’t mean avoiding the lines! Waited over half an hour, but we got our votes in. ✅

How pretty, spongy public gardens make way for more housing | CBC News In this week's issue of our environmental newsletter, we see how well-engineered public gardens can solve problems that get in the way of building housing, get a view of China's Great Solar Wall from ...

I’m well outside my area of expertise here, but I do know that Winnipeg has a huge problem with heavy rains overwhelming our sewer system, that we have a tonne of buried streams, and that I love gardens. Enter, the bioswale? www.cbc.ca/news/science...

So close! I think you get half marks for Freeland though. In any other timeline you’d have been right about that, too. Do you think the Conservatives are ready for that fracture yet?

If there’s one thing I know it’s that our crew is resilient. If we hit the wall once in a while it’s because “resilience” isn’t supposed to be a muscle you need to flex all the time without pause for years on end, yet that’s what we’ve been doing. Of course we can’t keep it up indefinitely.

Very relatable post, Heidi. I wish you some positive resolutions to reduce the mental load, and some good self-care time for recovery. đź’™

Trump tariffs, Canadian counter tariffs now in effect as deadline passes | CBC News Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says a first tranche of retaliatory tariffs on U.S. goods will go into force at midnight if the U.S. goes ahead with blanket tariffs on Canadian imports.

With the trade agreement “in tatters”, are we charging MFN on everything from the US, plus some targeted tariffs, or are we still doing UST? Or, maybe they’re not even “most favoured” at this point and we throw them in the pile with Russia, Belarus, and North Korea? www.cbc.ca/news/politic...

At the pet food store today, the wonderfully helpful person working there told me that there are no wet cat food canneries in Canada. The last one closed during the pandemic. So wet cat food, even Canadian brands, is from the US. Great opportunity for someone looking to start a business in Canada.

There are so many more interesting places to see in the world. The fact that we were all going there so often was, frankly, lazy. I look forward to seeing and doing more interesting things.

Manitoba 1st province to strike pharmacare deal with federal government | CBC News Manitoba has become the first province to sign a pharmacare agreement with the federal government.

Great news about pharmacare today! MB signed on…who’s next?

Side kudos for giving the WHC money to renovate. It was desperately needed even before the recent frozen pipes incident. 🙏

We’re old enough that our high school music is “classic”. How is it that songs that were “classic rock” when we were in high school are now on the same stations as our high school music? There’s too much compression. They didn’t shift it to the oldies stations, and it’s turned me off radio.
