Any chance you'd be interested in publishing a book I self-published during Covid as a sort of test-run without a budget, just to see if it would get some response? 4.5 stars doesn't seem too bad for a literary novel. You can check it on Amazon www.amazon.com/dp/B08QBYGFKC

Banksy of the Middle Ages.
Happy coincidence coming across this "Dance Macabre" at Rocamadour, France - perfect match for the poem I wrote years before.

Back and front cover design for the new edition of my WW2 novel. Thoughts and feedback would be much appreciated!! Spine lettering still needs to be added.

dripped deep red into my eyes
almost did I cry

little gods of little words
we think we write
for faceless millions
though it might well be
for no one at all
stuck in our endless autumn
of ink-stained leaves
that fall and fall
on deafened ears
yet still we write
like little gods
creating against all odds

Things you write as you grow older - part 2
unfurl and hoist
your tattered sails
steer the barnacled hull
into the gales
for one last voyage
on the last of seven seas
Ultima Thule is calling

Good book - Customer Reviews: 4.6 out of 5 stars (66). But so far, a bad retirement plan for lack of a marketing budget and social media reach. Maybe I can get some traction and shares here?

forgive me
but these photographs
of earlier days
only capture a passing reality
as day by day
I lived with you
and never noticed change
forgive me
but when I think back -

on her winter backbone waters
five head strong

the dogs rush on
and read the ice
seeking out the safest path
through overflow and crags

to turn a single page
into a universe
you must be woman
man and child
outside age
without race
wild and free
spurning time
blasting space
mind unchained
to turn a single page
into a universe
you must be all and none
an orphan of the word

In 1983, the Twin Towers still dominated the New York skyline. I was 21, fresh off the plane from the Old Continent, when I wrote this poem. Below's a rather lousy picture, but if you'd like a better view, and read, you can find it on my blog. www.jldupont.org/post/not-new...

Ignorance is bliss, until it's not, and a nation's excuse became "wir haben es nicht gewusst." Which nation will be next to use that phrase? Ignorance isn't bliss, it's immoral.
A poem to share on a cold winter's day with all you strangers and solitaires out there. Click the washed up wood to read.

I know it's early, but at least it won't get lost in next week's hemorrhage of wishes and some of you might hopefully read it and share it.

11 November - Armistice Day - A tribute, or rather, a lament. Stop what you're doing for a moment, commemorate, and step into the trench to read the common soldier's thoughts.

Tomorrow is November 11, Veterans Day, or Armistice Day as we call it in my part of the world. The "Trench of Death" lies in my backyard, so to speak. Click the link to read my poetic take on World War I (or any other war for that matter). Thank you for reading.

Came across this carved stone set in the walls of Old Town Dubrovnik. Looks like the builders left their mark. Couldn’t find any info about it though.
Gargoyles... artistic freedom in the Middle Ages never fails to impress (picture taken in Carcassonne France).
The odd things you come across in the mountains.

Hiking in wild places. Young black bear fishing. Shoup Bay, Valdez, Alaska.
Excellent work.
Indeed. Here's a piture I took of a mural on a wall of the Church of Notre Dame, Rocamadour, France.
Couldn't find an agent interested. We were in Covid lockdown. I self-published with not a penny to promote or market my work. And yet, it is slowly living a life of its own out there, picked up, read and rated by people unknown.
