They will always write back and you can 100% guarantee their response will be an argument generated by Claude after they feed Claude your response.

Megan's point, which was a good one, is that it is still of monumental importance to let yourself love the things and places and human beings and remind yourself how amazing it is that they exist and how beautiful this fragile world is because that's how we keep our souls alive

I’m old enough to remember when Howard Dean’s campaign ended because he yelled a little bit at the end of a speech.

I’m saving Role Model for my next trip! I’ve been trying to get through a science fantasy novel but it is tragically lacking in yearning.

I’ve just resigned myself to my new reality. I’m never leaving the cottage.

Current game’s lead character was two lines of backstory in a character’s bio from the last game.

This is so, so well-articulated.

I don't know why AI grifters expend so much energy trying to convince us that it's okay to write with the plagiarism machine.

Send your slurry of shit into the world. Let the readers decide.

Why do you act like you need our approval? Why do you give a shit if we don't consider you legitimate?

I never argued in favor of note taking without active processing. I said write your own work instead of using a slop machine to do the work for you, and then cry “ableism!” when called on it. “AI is better than other forms of turning off your brain” is not the slam dunk endorsement you think it is.

Here’s one! It’s peer-reviewed. I’m sure Claude will summarize it for you. www.mdpi.com/2075-4698/15... Anyway, it’s been fun arguing with someone determined to diminish their own brain functions in order to steal other people’s work, but I have a job to get back to. The one where I’m paid to write.

To which I would add that every study we have has demonstrated that regular reliance on LLMs actually worsens attention spans, critical thinking skills, or the ability to formulate coherent arguments on one’s own. They actively damage the brains of even neurotypical folks. A devil’s bargain at best.

Truly insulting take. You really think neurodivergent people can’t become professional writers without using the plagiarism machine? You think professional writers don’t struggle with managing executive dysfunction every single fucking day? Have you ever met a single writer in your life?

Second guy’s handle is Atreyu. A character who tries to save a magical land that is being destroyed by The Nothing when humans lose hope and stop using their imaginations. Should’ve gone with Gmork.

Will put this on my resume the next time I’m job hunting. 😆

Now I’m giggling imagining Andy Weir writing a Heated Rivalry type book. Pages and pages of detailed anatomical descriptions with an appendix on pre-hookup douching and no plot.

Someone gave me his last novel Artemis. I couldn’t get into it, it was like Michael Crichton with the whole “let me show off all the technical research I did” bit, but there was nothing interesting about the characters and nothing artful about his writing style. It’s like reading a training manual.

Featured is Fritz - both his original concept art and his 3D model - from the game Wylde Society by Studio Drydock.

He is an older man with blue eyes, and grey hair is styled meticulously with a couple curls resting on his forehead and a full moustache that wraps right into his chops. He wears a dark grey pinstripe suit, with four shiny grey buttons, a white shirt, and a butter yellow necktie and pocket square with shiny black gloves and shoes.

The background has an old paper texture with a dark work frame, with little flower elements in the corners.

Another AI slop seal on the same letter.

State seal looks legit. I better scan the QR code and pay that fine right away!
