I can imagine this plan backfiring spectacularly when someone from this book’s target audience goes to google it and gets slapped in the face with some mario/sonic slow burn mpreg 😏

I think the, ahem, rebranding really spurred people on to look for alternatives. Old SMPs like facebook and instagram turning into cesspools of ads and ai trash also doesn’t help. I’m curious to see how user bases with continue to ebb and flow and where they’ll end up:)

The negative effects of Twitter need to be studied, because I switched to Bluesky to take a break from Twitter and at least 1/3 of the posts I’ve been seeing here is about how much Bluesky is nicer and less toxic than Twitter 🙃
