Anyone have a way to encourage students to stay awake? I teach students who are emotionally disturbed. In every class, many come in, lay on the floor, and sleep, not giving us a chance to get started with engaging activities. #education

I have had kids who are truly dysgraphic. I want to help them at least be able to read what they write, and a copy of my notes can fill in the rest. I think having other compensation strategies is imperative as well!

Many of my high school SPED students have "hard copy of notes" as an accommodation, but that doesn't address in class issues! I try to help those students at least get to a point where they write 1 or 2 key words legibly. Their effort aids their recall.

I see an end to compulsory attendance, an end to SPED and 504 programs. I see money funneled to schools in wealthier neighborhoods (read SAVAGE INEQUALITIES). I see teacher salaries plummeting and so the numbers of qualified teachers as well. I hope I am wrong.

I am just now becoming familiar with how to use AI myself to simplify some of my teaching tasks! I'm looking forward to seeing how I can help.students do the same, and more!

I disagree, although I know he said bridge pres. Again. Those on the inside should have done a better job. I believe he felt he had momentum, not arrogance.

He was betrayed. Those who thought he was too old should have convinced him not to run before he was started. I believed in Harris, her energy and her vibrant ideas. I voted for her with pride. But I know there were many who simply did not vote because of the way she was handed the nomination.

We are working on being a collaborative, cross-curricular, project-based learning team. I work at a special campus for emotionally disturbed students. It's hard, we all have different experiences and skills in teaching this way, but I see the rewards in student engagement. #sunchat

I cannot imagine throwing away my poetry on purpose! I lost hundreds of poems I had only "saved" in emails on AOL (yes, I'm that old!). I was devastated! Lol

Why am I here? I miss conversations I had on Twitter, the stimulating ones that helped me start a podcast. I miss sharing strategies for alt Ed and trauma informed practices. I miss seeing what others are doing in education and running with new ideas.
