Little known fact: The "Ft." in "Ft. Wayne" actually stands for "Fountains of."

Once every few weeks I go see Eric with @cooltabletrivia.bsky.social and without fail I end up singing this for days afterward. youtu.be/vi7Lx-AZUIM?...
Is John Kruk sober and/or ok?
"We've got a close game in the eighth inning, what do you want to talk about?"
"Can we dig up old video of fights?"
This is your annual reminder that there are a wide array of compliant responses to a demand to "make some noise."
Umpire Austin Jones called out Miguel Vargas on a pitch that missed inside.
Vargas challenged and the call was overturned. The next pitch, he hit a home run.
Batters have reached base 43 times this season after successfully overturning a called strike 3.
I hope the "Brewers bunt a lot, win" narrative doesn't overshadow the fact that the pitching allowed two runs over two games. *That* is why they won.
Brice Turang's current 22-game on base streak (stretching back to 2025) is tied for the 70th longest in Brewers history.
His 16-game streak to start the 2026 season is now in the top ten, the longest since Luis Urias had 17 in 2022.
You spend all winter without baseball and that's just long enough to forget what it's like to watch a team struggle to hit objectively bad pitching.

I'm not sure if it'll work over a full 162, but "wait and see if opponents forget how to play baseball" is a more successful strategy than I would have expected.

Also, UW owns a trademark on the word, if that gives you a hint.
I was just thinking that, in all my years on the history beat, I don't recall two managers passing in rapid succession like this.
Also, on a darker vein, are you trying to protect Trebelhorn or suffocate him?

@Brewers The Brewers are saddened to learn of the passing of Phil Garner https://t.co/NLHqhxhm2P
Now that these jerseys are about to be Wisc0-2 I'm willing to accept more arguments against them.
I don't always like the way the Brewers do it and i've taken some lumps for saying so, but when I was a young fan in the 90's it would've been *unfathomable* to not only have multiple Brewers entries in a national notes column, but also to go out of one's way to promote that.
Letβs try this again without the typo: Looking like tomorrow's FanGraphs Sunday Notes column will be heavy on Milwaukee Brewers content. A lot of other stuff, certainly, but definitely a bunch of Brewers.
Unrelated: Nearly everyone i've seen offer and opinion on the Wisco jerseys could use a moment to pause, look in the mirror and ask, "Is this bad or is it just not marketed to me in particular?"
The suspense is palpable this afternoon as the Marlins expand on their lead over the Reds in the sixth inning. If this result holds the Brewers will return to sole possession of first in the NL Central.
Teheran pitched his last MLB game in 2024 but didn't actually retire until after pitching in the WBC this spring.
Count your blessings, Brewers fans. It's a lot more fun to write the "here's the math on the Brewers' hot start" piece, like I did for Shepherd Express this week, then it is to have to write pieces like this.
So we've established that beer in the dugout is not ok but crushing a mid-inning Uncrustable is encouraged.
We're getting ever closer to knowing *exactly* where the line is.
A quick foray into college basketball: If UConn wins tonight then Marquette (KenPom #83) will become the lowest ranked team with a win over the eventual national champions since Houston (#132) beat UConn on December 31, 2013.
It also happened in 2022.
This is one of the weirder things I've stumbled across while digging for data: In 2005 every MLB team won at least two but no more than four of their first six games.
Does Jake Bauers have a foot on the bag? The story of the series.
If it seemed like Yandy Diaz really took his time on thay homer trot it's because he did. I have the trot at 31.85 seconds.

I haven't pulled up the numbers but you'd have to think the Brewers threw a lot of those pitches to the White Sox.
Just heard someone say they're going to "Beautiful Orlando" and it made me wonder if I've been going to the wrong one all this time.
