Virginia joins a growing list of states including Colorado, Washington, and North Carolina that are investing heavily in intercity transit options, including passenger rail. Taking a state-wide approach to transit is what state DOTs should be doing.
This is great news from Virginia! State-supported intercity bus routes are a critical component of any comprehensive state-wide transit system. This is particularly critical for keeping small towns and rural communities connected to each other and neighboring urban communities.

Arizona results are in: OUR CLEAN ENERGY CANDIDATES WON AT THE SALT RIVER PROJECT
The Salt River Project elections this week were historic. Let’s keep going in Arizona: donate here to win the next “weird utility race” against TPUSA - the Arizona Corporation Commission in November secure.actblue.com/donate/lower...
In today’s under-the-radar climate elections…
Clean energy lowers costs. Don't believe me? Look at my electric bill from last month, thanks to Illinois's recent clean energy legislation. Then check out @climatecabineteducation.org's new policy platform about how to make this happen everywhere 👇
My ComEd utility bill this month. SHOUTOUT TO IL’S CLEAN ENERGY LAWS FOR GIVING ME MONEY BACK!!
This is about 10% of California's power sectors emissions. Think about how hard it is to make a grid this size 10% cleaner. That is the amount of work a new fossil plant of this size cancels out.
We cannot have new fossil infrastructure if we hope to have a safe climate. There just isn't time.
The price of gas is OVER $4.00. Here's how state and local lawmakers can step up to cut costs:
🔌 Speed up electric vehicle sales
🚲 Promote safe biking and walking
🚌 Fight for affordable, reliable transportation
🏘️ Legalize multi-family homes and ADUs

With gas over $4/gal nationally and locally much higher, there will be more demand for EVs, but there is so much more lawmakers can do to help.
Start here with this set of tools created by @climatecabineteducation.org
MI and IL both running major housing packages that will lower bills, shorten commutes and cut pollution.
If you are not watching the Midwest, you are missing all the action.
An image featuring wonderful housing on a sunny day with on screen orange text that says: Mi Time to BUILD.
A bipartisan group of lawmakers in MI are working to tackle the housing crisis. By eliminating unnecessary red tape and embracing duplexes and additional housing diversity solutions, newly introduced Michigan legislation could become a model for the rest of the country if passed.
As many as we do the work to win.
ELECTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES (laudatory)

They voted to gut the state’s climate law, and are on track to lose their election tonight.

Congratulations to @pierce4nchouse.bsky.social and @rodneysadler.com on their victories in tonight’s North Carolina primaries! Both candidates are committed climate champions who are ready to build the clean energy economy, lower bills, and reduce pollution⚡️
Housing👏policy👏is👏climate👏policy!
The rent is too damn high. The commute is too damn long. Here's how to fix it.
I continue to love Climate Cabinet’s approach to reimagining the world as it will be with universal consideration of climate in the policies that underpin people’s daily lives.
being able to convey complex ideas/issues in easily understandable ways is actually a fucking goated skill
Housing & transit policy can fill the gap where CA's clean cars waiver used to lead. Even better: we can do so by lowering costs for Americans. Check out how...

Tailpipe pollution from cars is the largest source of emissions in the United States – and housing policies that reduce car dependence can go a long way towards addressing it. For example, state and local govt.'s can adopt:
Some 🔥🔥🔥 from @spears.bsky.social on the endangerment finding arson:
"Climate leadership isn’t going to come from the demolished halls of the East Wing in Washington, D.C. It is going to come from local leaders who are committed to lowering their constituents’ bills."
Climate win: In Naperville, IL, which gets its power in part from a coal plant that's one of the top 10 climate polluters in the country, city councilmembers just voted to stop negotiations w/ the agency keeping them hooked on coal.
I first wrote about this here: www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...
“That isn’t going to come from the demolished halls of the East Wing in Washington, D.C. It is going to come from local leaders who are committed to lowering their constituents’ bills. From Virginia to Texas, the clean energy economy is still moving full steam ahead.”
Some thoughts from Climate Cabinet Action Executive Director @spears.bsky.social on today's announcement that the Trump administration will attempt to unilaterally repeal the endangerment finding:
