Hiiiiiiiiiiii!!!! Is every one of your minutes booked while you're here?

Yes, that I definitely agree with. I actually wish people trained on storytelling engines (Inform being the best) were the ones breaking ground with LLM techniques. The open models you can run on your own machine are incredibly good for this.

The problem with this method is that serving architectures for these models is far more complex now. You haven't been feeding your inputs directly to an LLM in years if you're using one of the big models. They have RAG, tool calls, prompt rewrites, you name it. How do you map that to UI?

Re: nostalgia for VHS tapes and other analog media, I saw someone say like "a VHS tape never sold my information to a nazi" and yes that's true! But the reason it's true is actually because Congress passed a law in 1988 specifically making it illegal for video stores to sell your rental history

Pancreatic cancer mRNA vaccine shows lasting results in an early trial Scientists caution that more research is needed, but nearly all of the patients who responded to the personalized vaccine are still alive six years later.

Trump administration considers unfreezing $20 billion in Iranian assets as peace talks ramp up | CNN Politics The Trump administration is considering unfreezing $20 billion in Iranian assets as part of ongoing negotiations with Tehran, according to two sources familiar with the discussions.

"Here's why it's good to make a deal and hand Iran $20 billion but it was bad when Obama did a deal and gave them $1.7 billion of their frozen assets" - headlines from the near future www.cnn.com/2026/04/17/p...

In Turkey, an elderly man who earns his living by shining shoes is visited every morning at the same time by a cat that asks to have its fur brushed. The man never turns down this little friend.😍👍💙

Please teach your sons to NEVER rape women and/or their friends that are with them. They should just not do it.

It’s infuriating when a woman comes forward about a man raping her in his hotel room after drinking and the response is “Why would she go to his room?” “Why would she drink with him?” This is Mike Pence logic. Women should be allowed to hang out with men without expecting they will be raped.

The Iran negotiation is def something we can credit him fucking up, but Orban losing is not. It was years of Hungarians working hard, taking risks to get this outcome, and giving him any credit either way is unaccountable. His face stepped in front of that pie and was too dumb to see it coming.

Keep an eye on this: Trump is trying to seize the beautiful Presidio in San Francisco, a longtime goal of techbros who want it for a dreamed-of libertarian "Freedom City". The plot is nutty but real. Seems Silicon Valley tech-fascists are extracting their money's worth from Trump before he fades. 1/

Trump advisers think the age of imperialism ended because of wokeness, not because 1) colonized peoples made colonialism untenable 2) technology made territorial empire unnecessary. They thought mere brutality and perceived genetic superiority would make wars against countries like Iran easy.

one of my fav video game facts nobody talks about is that popcap just ripped off peggle from incredible technologies who put out a game with the same name and strikingly similar gameplay in 1991. they have never acknowledged this in any interview i can find

it even has the ball catcher mechanic

You are blaming the Left for everything the Right is doing, as if they're the only ones with agency. People tire of this line of argument. All Dem leadership has made a distinction between legal and illegal immigration. I do worry about getting denaturalized: by the Right, in power now.
