But presidents are no longer bound by laws. They can govern by executive order and bar whatever activities they want, wherever they want. They might get sued, but it will take so long to get through the courts that the mining company might give up. We are no longer a nation of law after Trump.

It’s truly a beautiful thing that a 14th Amendment citizen, ACLU lawyer Cecillia Wang, was the person to argue to birthright citizenship case at the Supreme Court. And she was amazing. Far better than the guy trying to take away her citizenship.
Airplane hits fire truck at 24 mph and both pilots die? Maybe these airplanes need better safety mechanisms for pilots…
Uhh, thanks a lot, Claude.

Gavin Newsom speaking at SXSW
Taking every chance at SXSW to speak truth about the current administration.
I saw this too late and RSVPs are closed. I’m sad! The party I’d most like to attend at SXSW.
Kansas is awful. So are most of the states touching it (including the one I live in, unfortunately).
Help me get into The Onion/Bluesky party tonight.
Badged up.
Screenshot of Washington Post article about the Secretary of Defense banning photographers because they took unflattering photos of him.
Someday, if we’re lucky, maybe we will have leadership in this country that doesn’t act like teenagers.
Who’s going to be in Austin for SXSW? I’d love to find some people to meet for coffee! I’ll be there Mar 13-17.
That was a great session!
The commander in chief wore a baseball cap to the transfer of the fallen soldiers at Dover AFB. A real class act, there.

You know it’s bad when Russia can legitimately slap you around for moral failures in the UN Security Council.
Note that this post is about the 2024 Paris Olympics, not the current games.
All I can think about is how that 12 year old girl, now a 24 year old woman, must feel about this. We live in a very sick world.
Air Force 1 had to turn around for an “electrical issue”. Read: Trump chickened out.
Snowy landscape with trees and a church steeple.
Noordwijk is quite snowy this week!
Your story is really powerful. Thank you for telling it.
I genuinely want to know who’s buying Tesla vehicles at this point. I don’t know any liberal who would get near one. And EVs of all kinds sit on lots and gather dust in deep-red Oklahoma. No self-respecting republican here would buy one.
Cuomo's staggering entitlement and very public destruction in his (hopefully) final race should be a lesson to the rest of the old guard in Democratic power: retire before you get the beating he did. www.nytimes.com/2025/11/07/o...
Only evil, heartless people would ever consider this to be reasonable. (Gift article) www.nytimes.com/2025/11/06/u...
It feels like a new day after a hopeless five years.
It’s been less than 10 months.
Absolutely this. If the DNC pushes a centrist candidate for 2028, they will lose. This party is headed in a new direction, whether Schumer likes it or not.
Great idea. Model recommendations?
Thanks, GOP. My health insurance now costs over $30k per year. And it's entirely your fault.
