But presidents are no longer bound by laws. They can govern by executive order and bar whatever activities they want, wherever they want. They might get sued, but it will take so long to get through the courts that the mining company might give up. We are no longer a nation of law after Trump.
It’s truly a beautiful thing that a 14th Amendment citizen, ACLU lawyer Cecillia Wang, was the person to argue to birthright citizenship case at the Supreme Court. And she was amazing. Far better than the guy trying to take away her citizenship.
