Manchester / Film overlap!
Medicinema is a charity that provides escapism to hospital patients through the power of cinema. Volunteering with them is one of the most rewarding things I do.
They are opening a site at Manchester Royal Infirmary and are on the lookout for volunteers. Get involved!
Hell yeah
I've only been there 4 or 5 years tbf, some old boys around me will be affected who've been sat there for decades though, forged friendships, necessary regular companionship etc. It's such a cruel move.
Confirmed that I'm being turfed out of my seat next season for execs/influencers then...
Saw it coming after last season but what an absolute joke
Packing up to move house, every version I've worked on (26 not in there yet)
Long old time...
Amazing film. Would love to see it on the big screen some day... @princecharlescinema.com
Catherine O'Hara is as much of a "good in absolutely everything, no matter how good the thing itself was" actor as Philip Seymour Hoffman.
Catherine O'Hara was one of the funniest to ever do it. Literally always good in anything she was in. What a loss.
Don't think I can remember a year when the two lead acting winners are so completely locked in at this stage.
The supporting races are anyone's game though. I'd go with Inga Ibsdotter Lilleas and Benico Del Toro personally, I think the Academy will go with Amy Madigan and Stellan Skarsgård...
I think we're edging further and further towards "definitively" and away from "possibly" to be honest, mate
Stubbornness to not just run at Dalot on a booking and sling it in to Haaland did you as well tbf.
Gonna try and just enjoy a few months of the type of football I like before we get some other systems nerd in to fail again over the summer.
Would be well up for Licha giving Butt and Scholes something back here
All the endless, abject shite to endure over the last 18 months and THAT'S the one where the trains fuck me over. Jesus Christ.
Get in, reds
My number one pet peeve in football tbh. Don't think it would have changed the outcome but time-wasting as a form of cheating which literally always works does my head in.
Timekeeping during injury time an absolute joke yet again.
Only a foul once the ball is in the back of the net is it?
It's this level of quality, up-to-the minute reporting that still isn't quite here on Bluesky yet that I just cannot wait for
Happy New Year - I am kicking off the NY trying to fill the last couple of MLS Assistant Researcher vacancies for Football Manager. I have openings with Atlanta United, LA Galaxy and Inter Miami. Please shoot me a message if you're an FM fan and interested in getting involved! #FM26
Get the players off social media and enforce it strictly (I mean, it is probably impossible but I can dream)
One thing the next manager/coach definitively needs to be is assertive enough to stamp out the media circus impact within the club.
United being bad is too profitable for the broadcasters / YouTubers etc and it creates too much noise. The club used to have a protective bubble, that needs restoring.
Any sense of the club having a plan has completely gone out the window, this is bad. However, so too has three at the back and wing-backs (hopefully) so this is good.
In conclusion, mixed feelings
We knew AFCON was coming, we don't have any forwards injured. Bruno, Mount and Mainoo is very unlucky, everything else is the consequence of poor decisions top to bottom at the club.
Not all on him with injuries obvs but it speaks to a very poorly constructed squad which has been built towards his very negative way of setting a side up
Just the six defenders and two defensive midfielders against one of the promoted teams is it?

I watched some films last year
1 - High and Low
One of the best looking films ever made. Anyone who thinks the old black and white films are stuffy and boring should be forced to watch this and enjoy how exhilarating and thrilling it is. Each act is like its own exercise in genre and each one is the best version you’ll see of it
2 - Red Rooms
Heavyweight filmmaking. Incredible central performance by Juliette Gariépy as a dangerously online woman obsessed with a horrendous true-crime case. Captivatingly unsettling and unsettlingly captivating
3 - What's Up, Doc?
Live action Looney-Tunes, liudicrously charming. Barbra Streisand is absolutely luminous. Culminates in one of the best silly car chases you’ll ever see. Wonderful!
4 - Still Walking
One of the most perfect “nothing happens but everything happens” films I’ve seen.
