And in the latest episode of My Chronic Pain life, today, thankfully, is a much better day. I'm able to work, and I even managed to squeeze in my daily physio this morning.
Chronic pain sucks. It also has upped my ability to be grateful for any given (good) moment.
Sometimes. For low-level pain, it does absolutely. I use it instead of Tylenol for headaches, too. For higher pain levels, not so much, but nothing really does.
Thank you. I am grateful for others who do "get it." We're humanβwe need to vent sometimes, right?
It's exhausting.
So sorry you live with that! Today is a better day, and I'm learning to go day-by-day. I hope you find relief, soon.
My theory? Chronic pain conditions affect more women than men. Most medical studies are financed by men/male-centred organizations. Pain conditions aren't fun or sexy, and, also, does big pharma want our pain controlled?
It is, indeed. I hope you find relief soon!
I hear this, for sure! Today, I'm FINE, able to work and get my physio in and all that. I never know what each day will bring.
Oh I'm so sorry. I hope you find relief soon.
I am very friendly with CBD, yes.
I had plans today. An early-morning dentist appointment. A client meeting. A full workday.
All scrapped b/c of pain. Pain that also kept me up most of the night.
Managing a chronic pain condition while trying to do Life is impossible some days.
While I'm happy that spring is finally here, this transition is so hard on my sleep and pain levels. My typical 3am pain-wake-up call was 12:45 last night (after only drifting off around 11:30). Up until 5am. Super fun times.

One day, I hope weekends will bring adventures and joy, rather than errands and recovery. #ChronicPainLife
Today's #editor tasks involve me getting cozier with Word than I usually do.
Styles, fields, alternating headers that use code to customize text....oh, I'm having all the fun, today!
Iβm taking the fact that I was awake 2-4 instead of my usual 2-5 as a winβ¦
Absolutely zero clueβ¦
π°οΈ Saw Hail Mary tonight. First, itβs been years since I went to a movie. I was worried I wouldnβt be able to do it but the new (to me) seats are super comfy & let me change position. Win! I also brought aids & pain cream with me so I was good. Second, what a cute film! I need a Rocky plush now.
Who on here is attending Editors Canada conference in Halifax next month? I'm so looking forward to reconnecting with familiar faces!

Busy day today! Returning one manuscript to a client and formatting another.
In between work tasks: booking medical appointments and arranging date night.

I want to see some actual energy from the provincial NDPs...I'd consider getting involved if I could see some oomph there.
Love! (And I can't listen to lyrics, either, when editing or writing.)
There is hope, yes, but I feel the federal NDP party has a long way to go before they'll actually be voted in as our leading government party. In the meantime one super right party and one half-ass right party doesn't give me a lot of warm fuzzies.
Oh, I'll have to check this out. Thank you!
This is not good. Why are we looking to do even MORE damage to our hurting planet?
STOP. USING. AI. FOR STUPID. THINGS.
Most people's use of AI could be achieved by other means: a simple Internet search or, heck, asking someone in the know.
Save AI for the areas where we actually need it.
I'm not a Carney hater, but I'm not a full supporter, either. He's def doing more Con-aligned things than I'm happy with...
Do we even have a liberal party anymore or do we have Conservative A and Conservative B?
It's a full-on manuscript edit day, so this means I am belting out the cello tunes... π» (I know that emoji is not a cello).
What music do you listen to, if any, while in deep focus work?

Yes!
