France passed a law requiring solar panels on every parking lot with more than 80 spaces.

Equals 10 nuclear reactors
Reduces heat island, shades cars

The US -- 800 million parking spaces. Most of them are uncovered asphalt sitting in direct sunlight.

Why aren't we doing this?

I feel unusually strongly about chinos, there are some terrible ones around.
Guy here really beautifully fitted into the details though!

"act" ? Interesting choice of words.

Quite apart from it being political suicide for a Labour PM to drag us into another insane war with no plan, I suspect he genuinely thinks it is bonkers

From a post:

“Told my wife to have dinner ready by 6 or I'll obliterate her entire civilization.

So anyway, she now charges me a fee to use the bathroom that used to be free, and I didn't get any dinner, but I'm pretty sure I won that exchange.”

Your regular reminder that this time last month Kemi Badenoch told her party's spring conference that Keir Starmer should back Trump's actions in Iran "immediately and unequivocally"

On the strong recommendation of a customer, I have just read the first Podkin book, which we had on the shelf.
What an absolute gem. How I had missed it I do not know, but simply glorious. I'll 'staff pick' it, then crack on with the rest of the series!

I was in a 2 hour briefing today on the Iran War. All the briefings are closed, because Trump can't defend this war in public.

I obviously can't disclose classified info, but you deserve to know how incoherent and incomplete these war plans are.

Brexiters insisting “Brexit was never properly implemented” are like a guy who got the idea that he was getting an Aston Martin for Christmas, got socks instead, and is now sitting by his dead Christmas tree in March insisting Christmas hasn’t happened because he hasn’t got his Aston Martin yet.

A tweet from Michael McFaul questioning claims that Iran’s nuclear program was “obliterated,” alongside a Rapid Response 47 post quoting Vice President Vance saying the U.S. does not want Iran to obtain a nuclear weapon and prefers diplomatic negotiations. Below is a Fox News screenshot of Vance speaking on-air.

All to distract from the Trump-Epstein files.

Early A&E shift today while Parliament is in recess. Working on the NHS frontline keeps me grounded amidst the rough and tumble of politics. It is an immense privilege to serve my community both on the green benches in Parliament and in our local hospital.

Have just read Clem Fatale has been Betrayed, and have moved swiftly into Upstaged.
I suspect that you enjoy writing Gilbert a very great deal - genuine laughter here.
A pleasure to staff pick the series for @beckenhambookshop.bsky.social

Starmer isn't really the best at politics, is he?

worth noting that the second rich people stopped being afraid of mobs tearing them limb from limb, they stopped building libraries and opera houses and stuff and started ripping the copper wiring out of the walls of society instead

BREAKING: President Donald Trump warns the UK against getting into business with China, saying it would be "very dangerous."

He seems to have forgotten he has agreed to visit Beijing in April and invited Chinese President Xi Jinping for a state visit later next year

Ossoff: "This is a seismic event. This should have people across the country absolutely shook. This is a huge deal. This is an FBI raid on the Fulton County Elections office ... This is a shot across the bow at the midterm elections. He tried to steal power when he lost it in 2020."

And I want to clarify that I make that statement as a journalist. If someone who doesn't follow what's happening right now closely were to say that free elections in the fall feel impossible, you might accuse them of being Chicken Little.

I am telling you what I assess based on reliable *evidence*.

Poor little blighter was only just 8. And thank god for insurance. Still quite a gap for us to make up though.

Nearly £5k to discover my poor cat was cancer stricken and unsaveable. Extra to put her down.

BTW the EASIEST way to convince a pet-owner the NHS shouldn't be privatised is to ask them how much their last vet bill cost.
