Blueprint for politicizing my death if I die as a cyclist:

Instead of a 10k person protest, have 10-15 show up to city council weekly for 10 years.

Demand 150 miles of protected bike lanes, connecting the poorest communities to the city center, with a 5-year goal.

That’s it. Thanks in advance.

Not sure if this counts, but boomtown about Oklahoma City is incredibly interesting.

Not sure who this is for but: drone shots are the catfishing of photography.

Some of the worst places to inhabit look interesting from 500 ft.

Bluesky feels like a teen that skipped essential parts of childhood in a rush to grow up;It’s not it’s own thing, it’s just copy/pasting what it thinks it should be.

Using your sideways keyboards is the same as eating a hotdog like corn on the cob.

Some of these “what I eat on a day” videos wouldn’t get me to 11am.

The aesthetic has a UX problem.

Consistency > intensity when it comes to changing our cities.

If you had 1,000 ppl each willing to show up for one night; 6 a night for 3 yrs. of city council meetings is better than a one night protest.

This, while wholesome, reminds me of a video I saw of wild dogs hunting and it’s absolutely terrifying 🙃

Shoutout to those making it look easy.

I definitely make it look hard.

I mean it is hard. Just saying I can’t hide it.

Ugh, I hate that I feel like this.

Anyone point me to good urbanism/yimby/walkable city content?

How modernity answered the trolly problem:
❌1. Divert and kill one
❌2. Let it continue its course and kill 5
✅3. Cancel trolleys, and let cars kill 40k a year.

Just spent a month in Athens 🇬🇷.

Loved it.

Practically walkable, but holy hell is the lack of accessible infrastructure and craziness of car drivers insane.

Not strictly on planning, but walkable cities (speck) and strong towns (mahron) are great places to start! And Jacob’s “life and death of American cities” is a must.
