Fox News has some story up about Bill Clinton being in Epstein’s birthday book too. Why is that some sort of “gotcha”? I don’t give a damn about Bill Clinton. Let the two pedophiles share a cell.

Evangelicals have spent decades painting culture as demonic. And now they’re the ones who made a deal with the devil.
I just saw a Cybertruck with a confederate flag plate on the front and that seems about right.
Whether you’re religious or not, maybe now is the time to reappropriate and use language that liberal Christianity gave up on a long time ago: the devil, satan, hell, Antichrist, sin, judgment, the wrath of God, etc. (Not being exclusivist; I have no business speaking for other religions.)
We’ve criminalized speaking out against genocide. And even worse, we cheer for it—the criminalization and the genocide itself.
The “it was really about the economy” interpretation turned out to be misguided. Which plenty of people said after the election but were ignored and, at least in left academic circles, criticized for their lack of theoretical acumen (i.e. adherence to the party line).
There is no possible world in which a billionaire cares about you.
My former employer thought I was too antagonistic toward evangelicalism. Not with respect to my students but in some of my published work. I fully accept the charge—but all of this is what happens when you play the placating game.
If you didn’t like the halftime show there’s probably a Matlock rerun on TBS or something.
Theological observation: white evangelicals don’t take the Bible seriously.
Democrats think resistance is sending a strongly worded letter.
There’s no reason to mince words. A lot of people want fascism. It’s hard to conclude otherwise. And they want all that comes along with it, including the destruction of marginalized communities.
Just call Guantanamo a camp.
They’ll go to church in the morning. Then go to the Mexican restaurant for lunch after. And while eating their chips and salsa, they’ll talk about the need to “send them back.”
Love your neighbor as yourself. Unless they harm your other neighbor.
Love your neighbor as yourself. Unless they fuck with your other neighbor.
I might start believing in hell to comfort myself with the thought of Trump going there.
Spiced butternut squash soup with chorizo, queso, and cilantro.
I’ll admit there’s some satisfaction in Biden’s pardon. But it’s an abuse of power and a stupid political move. As usual the Democrats are their own worst enemy.
Aglio e olio.
The moral exhortations and claims that right-wing evangelicals have made for the past 40 years have never been made in good faith—so we shouldn’t treat them as such.
So a reminder:
It’s not ‘liberals’ saying Hegseth abuses women. It’s his mom.
It’s not ‘liberals’ comparing Trump to Hitler. It’s his vice-president.
It’s not ‘liberals’ calling Musk a liar and a racist. It’s his own child.
For the record.
Trump didn’t campaign on immigration policy. He campaigned on the dehumanization of immigrants.
Exactly. And it has nothing to do with economic need, as if a better economic plan would sway them.
People who want to ban others from bathrooms don’t need a better economic message.
Ego dissolution, annihilation of self . . . whatever you want to call it. Why do we value this in the first place?
Maybe all is one and/or everything is interconnected—that doesn’t necessarily have any ultimate value.

I’m not a fan of discourses surrounding mysticism—especially in psychedelic spaces—but I can get with Simon Critchley’s On Mysticism.
Maybe it’s time to recapitulate Leary: “turn on, tune in, drop out.”
