Surprised that Ethan is not in the starting lineup. I think he should be starting irrespective of which stage of this competition we are in. He has earned that with his performances last season. #arsenal #ARSCRY

I want us to win this competition. Lifting silverware can do wonders for confidence and have a huge positive psychological effect on the players. #arsenal
This is the team I would go with for the Palace game.
Kepa, Timber, Saliba, Calafiori, MLS, Norgaard, Merino, Ethan, Noni, Jesus, Eze
We still have LB cover with MLS, and Hincapié could use a breather. If things go well, Timber can be taken off early.

I was thinking whether he might be rested for this game with Chelsea coming up. Now it seems like he will definitely start.
This is a brutal week for us. Spurs are done, but Bayern and Chelsea are still to come. Chelsea feels more crucial as we could extend our lead to 9 points, but I’m desperate that we beat Bayern. They have been the source of so many European disappointments. #arsenal
Football, especially in PL, is a game of physicality and pace. Players often make up for lack of quality with these attributes.
Then there is Trossard who has neither, but his intelligence and technical ability keeps him a step ahead.
What a season he is having! #arsenal
HT: 1 up but Utd have been threatening. It could easily have been a 1-1. We need to keep the ball better. #arsenal #MUNARS
Team news for the season opener:

1 goal down isn't an impossible score to overturn. Our game model will be important. We have to be cautious and physically dominant. If we go all out attack, PSG can hit us on the counter with their pacy forwards. Stay in the game and don't concede early. #arsenal #PSGARS

Mikel Merino to do what Havertz did last season? Let’s hope so….. #arsenal
Responsibility for our market actions (or inaction) lies with the owners, management, and manager. We often blame only KSE or Arteta, but a full review of the summer and January windows is needed to understand the rationale. Both windows results have been subpar at best. #arsenal
Watching Arsenal play every three days was draining at times, and I found myself complaining about the overload of football. But now, with this break, it feels strange. I’m already looking forward to the Leicester game. #arsenal
I had a feeling the board wouldn’t spend big this window. Our summer signings are underwhelming, and we still lack Edu’s replacement. By early January, our chances of winning anything looked slim. Finding a top sporting director is crucial. We must go for the best now. #arsenal
Eddie Howe's tactical setup against us is effective, especially with his team's physicality and constant running. Surprising when you consider we have put so much focus on winning duels. #arsenal #NEWARS
Have to give credit where it is deserved, Newcastle have been superb till this point. Physically, technically and also tactically they have outclassed us. They have bested us each time we have played this season. #NEWARS #arsenal
That's true, but we've always needed a striker. Jesus served as a stepping stone for us, much like Zinchenko. Both improved our technical play, but neither should have been LT solutions. Keep in mind, they weren’t first-choice players for City at the time.
Isak was always an amazing talent, and scouts would have been able to identify the probability of him translating into this league. Even Havertz improved as a striker after he joined us.
In 2023, we signed Kai Havertz for £65m, while Newcastle picked up Alexander Isak for £63m the year before. I really wish we had signed him. He's absolutely TOP class and, in my opinion, the best in the world right now. #arsenal #NEWARS
The window is shut, and we must move past the disappointment of no reinforcements. We are a Havertz injury away from disaster, but for now, let's focus on Newcastle. Need to overturning a 2 goal deficit and this would be a TOUGH game. #arsenal
Evan Ferguson - West Ham
Mathys Tels - Spurs
Kolo Muani - Juventus
Donyell Malen - Villa
M Rashford - Villa
Apparently none of the above help improve our attack. Our market approach has always been poor, and the last 2 transfer windows goes to show that. #arsenal
Can't believe we didn’t sign anyone. We needed cover in multiple positions, but instead, we’ll say we were waiting for the "perfect" player. Our attack is especially thin, with only Havertz as a striker. If he gets injured, there are no excuses. #arsenal
5-1 Arsenal. We really upped the gear once City scored. Really good attacking play after that moment. Nwaneri and Lewis Skelly both scoring in the same game! What a performance! #ARSMCI #arsenal
That was horrible keeping from Neto. Totally lost his location. #GRIARS
Mathys Tel seems like a perfect market opportunity for us in this window. He is very talented and highly thought of within the informed football world. We can develop him and eventually he can be the lethal striker we all are hoping for. #arsenal
Team news for Arsenal:
Raya, Timber, Gabriel, Kiwior, Zinchenko, Jorginho, Rice, Odegaard, Sterling, Martinelli, Havertz.
Subs: Neto, Setford, Tierney, Calafiori, Kacurri, Partey, Merino, Nwaneri, Trossard, Butler-Oyedeji, Kabia.
#arsenal
We will have Nwaneri, White and Tomiyasu back soon. That will be a huge boost for the squad. #arsenal
FT: 2-1 Arsenal. It could have been so much easier. Supporting this team is not good for my health. #ARSTOT
Our summer choices for attackers will be key (hopefully with one added in January). Havertz will likely start as the main striker, but we need goal scoring wide players & a Jesus replacement. Seeing the forward line rebuild will be interesting. #arsenal
He would also be the easier target. Bournemouth are chasing a European qualification and would not want to lose Semenyo mid season.
