I maintain that among the media's biggest mistakes has been continuing to ask Trump questions as if he's a normal guy instead of asking things like "Can you explain who Jesus is" or "Describe the process of pumping gas"

Donald Trump's Plan To Steal Or Destroy Everything We should assume it's underway, starting with the Epstein files.

Legal eagles noticed, and there’s been SOME mainstream coverage. But overall the political class has underreacted to this month’s OLC opinion, ordered up by Trump or on his behalf, declaring the Presidential Records Act unconstitutional. Things are likely being stolen and/or destroyed *right now*.

I feel like a king having upgraded my gaming PC/server to 64 GB a few years ago when it was affordable! I'm glad that the relatively paltry VRAM on my GPU seems less of a blocker these days

i firmly believe that kennedy wants preventable diseases to rip through american communities since, in his warped mind, those who survive without vaccines will have proven themselves “healthy.”

Hearing about European governments switching to Linux and what I want to know is: KDE, Gnome, Cinnamon, Budgie, XFCE, LXQt? Maybe Cosmic Desktop? How riced out are they going to be?

some years ago, I lost my actual faith/void record, but not the sleeve. so I hung it on the wall, and every few months I flip it from one to the other.

if you match with someone on a dating app, but then they unmatch right away, you shouldn't take it personally. It just means that they think you're ugly on closer examination

Ok, permitting is hard. But if you are willing to put data centers in space, why not other places on earth? An uninhabited arctic island? (I am less confident on this point, you need connectivity, but also, we are comparing to space)

The smart guys start backfilling other justifications. But 1) Is launching solar panels into space actually cheaper than solar panels + batteries on earth? 2) Any cooling tech / heat tolerant gear invented for space would likely work better, and cheaper, on earth

Q: To me, the cooling piece of it seems challenging in a lot of ways. You have to move the heat out of the products. There’s no air in space. That’s not going to naturally happen.

A: You’re getting way beyond me pretty quickly.

Then when @reckless.bsky.social very very gently pushes back he is like "yeah I don't know anything" -- his only argument is "trust Elon." How about I fucking don't?

But at some level, we don’t have to deal with the cooling and things of that nature, which add a lot of weight to the product because you first start thinking about how do we get them up there. So, there are a lot of things that our team’s thinking through right now.

So I have thought for a while that many of the people who say we should have data center in space think it's easier instead of vastly harder, because they are just ignorant of basic high school science. Here is the CEO of Cisco who plainly thinks exactly that www.theverge.com/podcast/9067...
