But yeah, I imagine putting together a one-shot in a few weeks was probably a cakewalk by comparison. (Depending on what edition you're running.)

Admittedly, the post isn't even entirely me dumping on my own work. I was thinking of it more in a "But doctor, I *am* Pagliacci" sense.

That sorta happened to me once. Ran a TC: Æon one-shot at a convention, and a player's IC "what if so-and-so is in on it" question/theory inspired me to make the story a trilogy. Never got a chance to run the third part, but I have thought about writing it all up a a community content adventure.

I suspect some of those folks in chat have been thinking for a *while* on what they'd want to see if Kyra ever shared the stream with someone else.

EEAaO is so incredibly good. It is legitimately Art. Literally my only complaint is that it made me aware of what Hollywood cost us by letting Ke Huy Quan slip into obscurity.

While I fully endorse the classic "don't worry about your awful first draft because nobody's going to see it anyways" writing advice (and its variants), I admittedly don't find it as helpful because of how rarely anyone seems to notice my posted/published finals.

I've been there.
"I'll start my first draft when I get home from this trip."
-Travel home delayed by almost two days due to weather. Pipes froze in the meantime, bursting after I get back, basement floods.
"Maybe I can go out and get some work done."
-Car hit and totaled while parked.
And so on.

IMHO, the point where the hobby-show jumps the shark to become CRIME DR. WHO is at the beginning of S3, when Lestrade abandons an elaborate operation to chase a rumor that Sherlock is still alive. After that, it feels like the universe exists *solely* to orbit Sherlock and give him things to do.
