NEW: We're urging an appeals court to re-consider a lawsuit challenging the Trump administration's attempt to deploy National Guard troops in Portland, Oregon.

The military should not be policing civilians.

Jack Schlossberg, a grandson of Jackie Kennedy, wrote in an emotional Instagram post:

“My grandmother saw America in full color — Trump sees black and white. Where she planted flowers, he poured concrete.”

Hi! Does anyone on #EduSky have a connection to speak with Elizabeth Acevedo, author of With the Fire on High? One of my grad students is doing her reading specialist practicum with an ML who connects with this book incredibly. She is hoping to contact Ms. Acevedo for a quick note or something. 🙂

I won't say this is devastating as there is far worse going on for so many people. It’s disappointing. I have an application in to serve as a Fulbright Scholar in 2027. Nearly all of the board members resigned following recent decisions and I'm not feeling optimistic about it now. #EduSky

We did a study on #belonging & #collaboration in #online graduate students recently. Participants shared their perspectives on connections in programs and if they felt pride or allegiance to their university—even if they never see anyone in person. Answers varied! Any thoughts on this?

"Clustering: grouping students based on similar learning needs" is harmful because it reinforces stereotypes and can highlight inequities. Consider "flexible grouping" instead, which focuses on addressing various learning needs.

"Tracking" is harmful because it focuses on students with deficits and limits. Consider "student goal-setting" instead, which focuses on the positive aspects of student achievement.

"Ability-grouping" is harmful because groupings are focused on deficits rather than strengths. Consider "flexible grouping" instead, which focuses on addressing various learning needs.

Labels in education often focus on children's weaknesses, historically dividing diverse learners from the "norm" & limiting how educators see them.
