Managed to get some decent outdoor archery practice in tonight. Still getting my sight marks set up for different distances with my new limbs, but working through various set ups. Happy with progress though.
I started at 20 yards then moved to 30 & 40. 40/50&60 later this week.

Post your favourite film from the year you turned 18.

So many great choices but this one, because

Agreed. Slimmed down volumes maybe and targeted to discrete sectors of the marketplace would be a better option maybe?

I like the idea but would feel I would not get full value for money out of it. As I’m focusing on 1/35 armour, so for now the other scales/ logos would be wasted on me. Almost like we need a sharing system where one person takes what they need and pass the book on.

QRP with an old piece you still like…

Mine is a Tamiya 251/1 originally built in the 90’s, then stored in a loft for nigh on 30 years. Before I returned to the hobby.
Cleaning the dust off, literally, and giving it a more serious attempt at weathering. And adding a new set of figures.

You don’t have ‘nothing to do’ you have personal time, mental health time and a hobby that keeps your mind sharp and motor skills on point. Looking forward to seeing progress.

Some people know their careers from an early age, some change multiple times, some happen upon it by accident and sometimes it’s one small thing that points you on a journey. For me it’s a pack like this that set me on the path of being in Food Product Development #foodiesky

Makes me glad that I only paint 5 or 6 1/35 scale figures. Less to do. But have a good day, or two painting them all.

Looking really good there Jim. Should set the Sherman off a treat, will be a nice finishing touch.

I am very lucky to have a great shop on the way from home to work, Jadlam models. And it’s next to a Tesco and a B&Q, so happy accident that I often pop in. Plus their mail order service is first rate. But even when I’m away from Somerset I do try to find the nearest shop just to have a butchers.

I was listening to the interview on bbc R4 yesterday and the organiser just didn’t seem to get the point.

Had a great evenings practice at the range tonight. Testing out my new Uukha archery limbs. Only shooting at 20 yards, but it was all about fine tuning. Onward to increased distance over the next few sessions. #archerylife #archerygeek

Really cool and a great build. All those little details make it stand out, I especially liked the rusted barrel and the flowers, a nice touch of colour.

I’ve been trying to have those conversations with my parents, the ones about ‘your’ wishes and funeral plans. Until recently it’s been ‘oh we don’t know’ but now when I explain I just want to do right by them they are starting to listen.

I saw them at the XFM gig in Finsbury Park, 1993. And I remember them being amazing. It was circa Wish album and the Forest live was superb
