Je ne comprends pas pourquoi on joue si souvent la deuxième suite sans la première, et parfois sans chœur... J'y avais assisté comme ça, et j'avais été terriblement déçu. Le tout est un chef d'œuvre, il n'y a rien à enlever. J'y ai enfin remédié la semaine dernière à la philharmonie, un bonheur !

Add to it that our all 12 tone tempered scale is a compromise, mostly to help modulate, if I get it right... And it's obvious that nature is more of a construction than a reality
I'd add to that that most people would find very dissonant the approximative #4th and the flat 7th coming from the harmonic series, and most players using them to produce sounds have been correcting them for centuries.
It took me years, but it lead to the pieces I'm sharing today. This one, the second part of my duet for english horn and clarinet, is probably my best achievement yet.

Years ago, watching the videos on @orchestrationol.bsky.social about the moooc was a turnpoint in my writing. That's when I realized I had to write for every single instrument before I write for a large ensemble.

I played with Arlet for years in a previous band, he is the kind of musician who plays jazz or classic, piano or percussions seamlessly. It's an honor to have someone like him playing my music, and I'm thrilled to share it with you !
As for the French horn, it sure would be on my list! Actually, I wanted my kids to play French horn and bassoon, because you always find great opportunities to play (and it sounds excellent)
I'm just getting back to midi orchestration after maybe 10 years off, I take note, I didn't know about this one.

I'm not a wind player myself...My kids are beginning flute and clarinet, though. But it's more of a long time passion : those instruments have always catched me. If I were to start everything again, I think I 'd learn bassoon, and English horn
