Remember how you felt about people defending their neighbors in Chicago, Minneapolis, and other cities around the US? Extend that empathy a bit further, to people Trump is calling animals. It may hurt to stop and think about how much you have in common with those people. That's okay. Let it.

You have more in common with the people of Iran than you do with anyone in this administration, any member of the technocracy, anyone who is profiting from this war, or any billionaire. When you see Iranians forming human chains outside key infrastructure sites, you should feel a sense of kinship.

Overall tho, it's ridiculous to spend time criticizing how others protest when you could be focusing on how you can advocate for change. You can't expect everyone to afford and use a gun, but if you have one, good on you! Go use it and stop calling people on the internet pussies for not having one.

Consider boycotting, donating, and educating as well. Drop the "I can't do it" and "it's hopeless" mentality. Everyone can do something. The US isn't the only country that has ever suffered ever.

Still, there are ways to resist. Calling your reps is something I'm finding to be less effective every single day, but I'm not going to call it useless; though, I will emphasize that I hope that's not the only form of passive protesting you're doing. You can't rely on spineless people in power.

Living in the US, I've noticed that a lot of people are either too comfortable to feel the need to act, or are unable to do more extreme acts of protest at the cost of their livelihoods. The former is due to privilege, the latter is due to unfortunate circumstances born from capitalism/corruption.

If you do own a gun and are serious about using your right to bear arms, don't shame others online for not having guns and utilizing them; instead, go utilize it yourself. You have the gun after all. If you're so comfortable shaming others for being pussies, I expect you not to be one then

I don't see an issue in calling your MOC or your representatives as long as that's not the only act of passive protesting you're doing; you can't rely on spineless people in power to save you. Donating, boycotting, and educating are other great passive ways to fight back. Prioritize community
