In a country that took the humanities seriously, way more of the medievalists you’re seeking out to explain Avignon would have actual academic jobs.
It’s a really fun city! The move has been difficult in some ways but I’m enjoying it more now that I’m a bit more settled!
Nice haha! I saw a clip of the owners of Russ and Daughters today and in the clip they said they tried to put matzo brei on their menu but took it off because no one could agree on how it should be cooked 😂

rack. Then, heat up your salsa (bonus, you can make your own, but being in Denmark that’s hard so I just bought jarred). Once warm, add your fried matzo until absorbed and soft but not soggy. Finish with eggs, cilantro, cheese (queso fresco or feta both work great), and some fresh lime.
Okay so I did a Frankenstein of a few. Basically, you want to get your oil to about 350 F. (Side note, you’ll want your latke frying set up). Then, take your matzo and fry it for about a minute. You’ll want 2 inch-ish pieces and about 1-2 sheets per adult. After fry, let drain on paper towel or

Using my free will this morning to make matzo chilaquiles
Man, I love peer reviewing a really good article. Great way to wrap up a week! I hope this article gets published!
I think often of a New York Times photo of a little Iraqi girl tending to her parakeets in a bombed house, probably from 20 years ago now. I will think of this man and his sweet dog often now too. People just want to love what they love, care for their little beings, and instead we do this to them
Yeah, an unfortunate byproduct of being an early adopter- I was on here before they activated 2FA (turned on now) and missed the notification for when they added that feature.
Got my account back after being hacked - thanks to folks who reported that quickly!
Please consider attending and sharing our final webinar of the spring on Caregiving! Our panelists have all kinds of caregiving responsibilities from children to spouses to parents (and international). us06web.zoom.us/meeting/regi...
And so begins the three weeks of the year where I have no idea what the hell time zone anyone is in

Shabbat table set up
February was horrifically terrible- personally and globally. Hoping this Shabbat (which fell on one of the nicest days in Copenhagen recently) will usher in less pain and grief.

The worst part of being in Europe again is waking up every morning and immediately seeing a new fresh hell
like this isn't 2012, there are no national queer rights orgs who are flush with cash. Everyone I speak with is dramatically cutting their budgets. And red state queer orgs are always fighting uphill on a shoestring budget.
My challenge to you today is to google a red state queer org and donate.
“We don’t have a government that’s properly staffed,” she said. “All of these things [federal workers do] are really part of making life a little fairer, a little safer for the public. We’ve lost that.”

The idea of a less than 30 election cycle will never not blow my mind

When I think about new technology I think about: Is this helping humanity? Is this hurting vulnerable populations? What does it do for labor/workers rights? Who does it benefit?
like thankfully for me it was mostly annoying, but for Global South scholars, this could actually create real risk for folks trying to come to the US for conferences, etc. Really poor judgment on whoever did this
Yeah like I understand that we all have our opinions on BDS. But giving our names and contact information to the ADL to say "hey if you support this, you are antisemitic" is a fucked email to get. Like, that crosses a line IMO
Though Governin Council makes it sound so folksy
Governing***** -- y'all, my brain is mush from this damn meeting
I will also say that it is so beyond messed up that I had the ADL in my inbox this week calling me antisemitic. I really hope whichever colleague submitted an *early career scholar* (and others) to the ADL rethinks their choices. It's intimidation (not to mention silly as I am a practicing Jew).
I am so tired after the 7 (!!) hour ISA Governin Council meeting. I am going to pocket a lot of feelings I had on the motions for the group chats but today was a really good example of why it's critical to know rules of stuff inside and outside. Also ISA please get a parliamentarian 🥲
