And rich people simply *do* contribute more money to the state in absolute terms. In most countries it's something like the richest 20% contribute 80% of the tax-take. Musk, Bezos etc. have obscene amounts of money, but let's not play into the economically illiterate liberal trope.
Clearly US tax system is monstrously unfair, but technically, income tax is progressive, because (theoretically) you pay progressively more as you earn more. Contrast with flat rate taxes where everyone pays the same - sales taxes, or land taxes for example. Nuance free spittle doesn't help anyone.

Good to know. How much is 'very little', in dollar amounts? Writers know the doing stuff for exposure - short stories are pretty much freebies for exposure.
... and it's easier to write in Guardian/Telegraph style than for the Sun and Mirror. (Technically speaking).
The campaign is awful and aims to equalise facts and lies in people's minds. Part of resisting that is reading carefully, and a careful read of the BBC piece makes it clear the claims are about the disinformation campaign, not about Khan citing numbers.
The version I read had updates so seems like it gets updated and republished on Amazon every so often. IIRC there's nothing new in there for Trump et al to lie about. The author gets the juicy bits out in the media as reader magnets anyhow.
