Betsy will always be my Psylocke. I grew up with her, and her family’s lore has always pulled me down the rabbit hole. The Captain Britain side of things, with its deep ties to Marvel mythology, is something I’ve always loved discovering.

Over time the governors that were placed on Brian have fallen off: The star ceptor allowing him to fly, needing to stay close to England for his powers to fully work, tying his powers to his confidence etc… were all just ways for Merlyn to manage Brian.

When Lionhart pulled the sword, he damned her and told her she made the wrong decision and kept her from her children. Ultimately, she had a “happy ending”

We have seen rogue Captain Britain’s throughout Marvel. There is one right now in the ultimate universe.

There is no “gotcha” I’m just telling you the way the powers have evolved over time in the books. You’re trying to make it set in stone but it’s very fluid. CB powers are cosmic and can be passed from one person to another without needing a test.

Brian was upset about pulling the sword because he had been conditioned that the sword equals you’re a bad person. The Braddocks have been traumatized their entire life by Merlyn. Especially Brian.

The Braddocks are Otherworldly hybrids. They have powers outside of being CB.

Merlyn, when he was in charge decided how much power each captain got. Merlyn hasn’t been in control in a very long time.

Well, they both have the power.

The current story is this: Betsy is Captain Britain and Brian is Captain Avalon. If some writer changes that in the future... until then, it is what it is. 🤷‍♂️

Brian was upset because he has been conditioned to believe picking the sword means you’re a bad person.

The sword and amulet talismans are more pageantry than anything. Merlyn put a ton of limitations on Brian’s powers to keep him on a short leash.

Betsy destroyed the amulet. Her CB power source is the Starlight Sword.
