I LOVED The Terror

This is my first market in close to a decade. My style and my approach are both so different now—I feel totally at ease and in my element!

Starting this Sunday I’ll be tabling once a month at my neighborhood farmers market. I’m excited to be sharing my work with my community and the opportunity to talk about traditional handcrafts and shine light on the humble objects/textiles we use every day.
The cover of a children’s book titled Louise Bourgeois Made Giant Spiders and Wasn’t Sorry features an illustration of a person swinging from a large red spider sculpture
Maybe this would be of interest! 😅

A tree identification tag has been consumed as a tree grows around it
Spent today very officially walking through the maple collection at the arboretum with my big clipboard taking cuttings for the herbarium. Very peaceful and enjoyed talking to visitors about my passion project!
I also bought the sheet music for the end song, for piano!
This is the only secret garden that exists for me
If, for example, Trump says nobody is allowed to dance, on penalty of death, he has no legal power to make that declaration and no power to enforce it, but if everyone stops dancing it's as good as if he did. Reporting as though Trump has these powers helps give him those powers.
Last month, over a thousand people helped us raise nearly $1,890 at checkout to support Baltimore Safe Haven. This month, our register campaign supports the awesome folks at Trans Maryland. Let's go!
I still try it every time! Just in case ;)
The bi-polar is polaring and I’m exhausted and I’m pretty sure I didn’t stop talking the entire 45 minutes of therapy but I am drinking a seltzer and that’s water so I am surviving.

In her book Unraveling Peggy Orenstein highlights again and again the way textiles support much of our daily lives, and like Peggy I have been joking/not joking for years now that textile work is my apocalypse skill. I do think these days I’m useful in other ways, but doesn’t hurt to practice
A series of heart-shaped valentines made by a toddler and his mom featuring an excess of googly eyes and colorful sequins
I’m happy to report that toddlers are not afraid to show love to everyone and everything, that my kid understands consent to the point where I have to ask him if I can pat his head, that 4 is the max no. of cards you can get a 3yo to make, after he’s already made 2 for himself

Michael you do the most stunning work! I’m always so delighted when a new piece from you finds itself in front of me!

Currently, finally. Maybe I’ll pick up some knitting today!
Beavers and the dams they build are not always embraced in the areas where they do their work. But there's a growing recognition that they also are building a kind of natural infrastructure that helps with water management and the climate.
Perfect green!
A pie chart showing the breakdown of books by media type, with the largest slice being print, followed by ebook and then audio.
Also reading related: loving this format breakdown. I’m trying to read through the books on my shelves this year and I’m off to a good start!

Purchased this day one of @bookshop-org.bsky.social launching their ebooks. What a magnificent read.
