Your government refusing to prosecute sexual predators, but protect them instead, only makes sense when you realize your government is being run by sexual predators.

Is reality setting in, re the Northland RONS? - Greater Auckland
There have been a couple of pieces this week about a few parts of the Northland Motorway that show
“A bit like Dad splashing out on a six-figure sports car by taking out a payday loan, while the country as a whole is struggling to afford food and pay rent – and still mopping up from the latest climate disaster.”
RoNS reality is biting harder by the day: www.greaterauckland.org.nz/2026/04/22/i...

Starting a mid-decade redistricting war only to end up with -1 seats is the same fine strategic genius and subtle grasp of game theory that brough us the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump fought to keep the ballroom fundraising contract secret. Here’s what’s in it.
The agreement governing hundreds of millions in private donations was kept secret until a watchdog group sued and a judge ordered it disclosed.
Newly revealed records show the Trump administration structured a White House ballroom fundraising deal to keep donor identities secret and bypass standard conflict-of-interest safeguards, raising ethics concerns about influence from corporations with federal ties.

Israeli Soldier in Lebanon Sledgehammered a Statue of Jesus
Netanyahu’s delusion that the IDF can provide enduring security to Israel has been running into the reality that a % of soldiers’ combat behavior cannot withstand scrutiny.
It’ll be ironic, but unsurprising, if a sledgehammer to a Jesus icon poisons Israel with MAGA in a way that Gaza did not. GIFT

Gil Duran tweet: TLDR: Fascism
in response to Palantir's long fascists screed on X.
"Your Account is Suspended" Message on X
The CEO of Palantir posted a fascist manifesto on X.
I pointed out that it was fascist—which resulted in a permanent suspension from X (my second time!).
So, when you hear the tweeters complaining that BlueSky is intolerant, remember why many of us came here in the first place.

Similarly, Palantir calls for national military service. This is a common and unfortunate affliction of middle-aged and older men, akin to an interest in the Roman Empire or World War II. Its simply not something you see many men in their 20s promote for obvious I-would-prefer-not-to-die reasons. Charitably, it reflects a sense of a desire for creating shared meaning among the young that the elderly perceive is lacking, or to coerce the elite into sharing the cost of military conflict. Uncharitably, it is the old telling the young how to live and risk their lives.
We all have personal views, but the manifesto completely merges Palantir and Karp's vision. Why should a tech company have a manifesto that includes rearming Germany or Japan, or calls for national military service?
Turning opinions into political manifestos demands allegiance or opposition.

"The average IQ in Somalia hovers around 70, and that's the threshold for mentally handicapped ... they're a net drain on the society" -- even by MAGA standards, the unvarnished racism of this interview of Rep. Brandon Gill by Benny Johnson is breathtaking

EU: The European Union will require sale of mobile phones with “user-replaceable and longer-lasting batteries” starting in 2027.
The regulation demands “availability of spare parts and manuals for 10 years to curb planned obsolescence”.

The RBA’s policy deliberately creates unemployment. So why do we treat the jobless so badly?
The way we deal with rising inflation is highly problematic.
The RBA deliberately creates #unemployment to control inflation. Then our employment services system treats the jobless as if they caused their own predicament and don't want to work.
Unfair and unnecessarily cruel. My latest in @aunz.theconversation.com: theconversation.com/the-rbas-pol...

Last I checked, we have an FAA for aviation, nuclear energy is regulated, and electricity is regulated.

Not sure how this "no tax on tips" stunt was supposed to play out, but showing a senior citizen who is stuck driving Door Dash because she can't afford her husbands cancer treatment is not the flex they think it is.
Or was that part bullshit too?
