Such a good game. If you ever get bored of the vanilla version, the Multiverse mod is practically a full sequel, probably at least 10x the size and free.

The British Museum is suing a former curator it says stole 1,800 items and tried to sell them The British Museum is suing a former curator alleged to have stolen hundreds of artifacts from its collections and offered them for sale online.

The British museum upset and scrambling because someone appointed to a position of authority over it stole artifacts from there and took them away for his own profit is the most hilariously ironic story of the last 10 years

A placard in a display case. Text reads:

Mother Ship Model
Close Encounters of the Third Kind

This model of an alien spacecraft was used in the filming of Close Encounters of the Third Kind, released by Columbia Pictures in 1977. Director and screenwriter Steven Spielberg envisioned the ship, and a team led by Gregory Jein made it from model train parts and other kits. When filmed with special photographic and lighting effects, the model appeared to be a gigantic craft rising up from behind Devil's Tower in Wyoming. Rotating, colored lights added to the effect.

If you look closely, you can spot some details not seen in the film, including a Volkswagen bus, a submarine, the R2-D2 android from Star Wars, a U.S. mailbox, an aircraft, and a small cemetery plot - enhancements added by the model makers as inside jokes.

Ooh, I was in DC a while back and saw this model (or one of the models?) from the movie at the Udvar-Hazy Center, some more interesting details in the text...

I've been saying the same for years, but recently realised that the next problem will likely be that multiple companies will eventually do this at around the same time with various sources tied to each, and then, well...

Starting to feel more like Old Twitter on here. Sure, Threads has the larger user base, but it just feels like Instagram without the pictures - most of what you see has nothing to do with the people you actually want to follow, and those in charge are making it clear that this is entirely by intent.

Eurocrats can’t read Boris Johnson’s memoir because of … Brexit “It’s ironic,” says Brussels bookseller.

Boris Johnson’s book on his years in Downing Street is nowhere to be found in Brussels. And it’s his fault.

Karma hit the former anti-EU campaigner as post-Brexit red tape snarled the delivery of his headline-grabbing book to the EU capital.

Jet lagged in the otherwise lovely state of CT many years ago, I once made the mistake of ordering tea at a cafe over there. I was eventually (I like to think they had to look up the recipe) served a mug of lukewarm water with a tea bag on the side. It's all they know...
