I totally agree! I prefer to jump in and just learn as I play. I'm thinking about making the public demo start later on in the game, but you'd miss the tutorial that way. I'll probably provide a few short tips, though.
For the most part, they're pretty intuitive, but the main issue is the slower build/ pace of the current demo, which starts at the game beginning and includes the tutorial. I'm thinking a better demo slice would be starting further in, but you'd miss the full tutorial.

Karl did an amazing job working with me on these Reln starship designs. The Reln are a mysterious people, living on a harsh homeworld. Their planetary environment has a distinct influence on their starship design, and it's clearly reflected in Karl's cool artwork!
