I did a similar thing a couple years ago (but with Ultimatum: France) and it was entertaining enough, haha

So glad I was able to teach you the superior way to eat popcorn ☺️
At the core of international law constraining the death penalty is that it should never be used discriminatorily. This new law could not be more discriminatory if it tried. Grounded in the racist belief that Palestinian lives matter less.
The political context I was missing!!!

Wow what a dream that would be 🥰😻
The lack of access to COVID vaccines and the need to go to a pharmacy that can actually administer vaccines (esp for under 2s) is such a barrier...I'm lucky to live near a pharmacist who's great w kids and has vaccines in stock, but it's an issue for many
very depressing to learn that every camp is the same, and this kind of centrism is built on racist and sexist assumptions about people raising valid and urgent concerns as "naive" / "too sensitive" / "hysteric"

Even if you didn’t intend to hurt people, even if you didn’t have control over it, why not feel sorry that people were hurt? I think I am fundamentally confused by this allergy to empathizing enough to want to apologize and say I’m sorry you were hurt
The Tumbler Ridge newspaper puts it better than I could
it’s so corny and the product placements are so jarring?? though I did cry at the end of tonight’s episode…
An image in muted colours showing vague aesthetic animated illustrations of a light-brown-skinned man with curly hair, Black woman with a short afro, and red-headed white woman sitting in various poses on, respectively, a reclined chair, a bench, and a stool, in front of and facing an abstract geometrical image, as if considering it and mid-discussion about it.
The People's Consultation on AI launched today! Whether you have in-depth expertise in AI issues, or don't consider yourself an "expert" but have firsthand experience with AI or its impacts and want to have your say, this is for you. Participate by March 15, 2026: www.peoplesaiconsultation.ca
Something I hope happens more in the discourse about AI-enabled harms and violence is disrupting the notion that we need AI at all, or that using AI is inevitable. Part of the problem is the overbroad use of the term that has rendered it meaningless/mystified.
every day is a mix of parenting-related exhaustion and guilt that I get to experience such mundane reality of life as the world crumbles and fascism takes over
A senior Gaza official warns toxic materials from Israeli bombardment may be seeping into groundwater, worsening the besieged enclave already devastated water system.

NEW: A risk assessment found that leading general-use chatbots — ChatGPT, Gemini, Meta AI, and Claude — are "fundamentally unsafe" for teen mental health support, failing to catch important red flags and responding inappropriately to users exhibiting signs of crisis.

For orgs & indivs who wanted to sign the original joint civil society & human rights letter protesting Min. Solomon's "national sprint" pseudo-consultation on AI strategy, but didn't get a chance or otherwise missed the deadline, we've re-opened it for signing here: tinyurl.com/AIcivsochuma...
Not yet available in Canada 😕
A national AI strategy is too important to "sprint" through in 30 days. I've signed an open letter alongside 160+ civil society & human rights groups, academics, experts, and advocates, protesting Minister Solomon's "consultation" and demanding a re-do:

Not sure if anyone reads my updates (skeets?) anymore, but here is an essay I wrote recently for @theglobeandmail.com on watching my (once strict) parents becoming gentle grandparents & what I learned from it:
Israel has killed approximately 200 journalists in Gaza in just 22 months, which is more than the combined number of journalists killed during WWII and the entirety of the Vietnam War.
No words.
I guess we are just openly being eugenicist now, cool!
The "second-generation cut off" has been described as a genocide “in paper form;" as "an evil that threatens our very existence;" as an act of "retaliation;" as discrimination, and, as assimilation. Yet it remains a part of Canadian law. Why?

Excerpt from Columbia's agreement/bribe to the Trump Regime: 20. Columbia will uphold its commitment to Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 by providing safe and fair opportunities for women including single-sex housing for women who request such housing and all-female sports, locker rooms, and showering facilities.
Buried in Columbia's agreement/bribe with the Trump regime (and not reported by the news) is a section which agrees to segregate trans women from women's housing, sports, and bathrooms. Functionally, trans women are no longer welcome at Columbia University.
I keep reading stories like this and then want to scream like the one clip I watched where someone just says, what happened to just having a think?!

85% of Gaza’s population have entered the "fifth stage" of malnutrition — the most critical and dangerous phase, which is often irreversible even if food becomes available in the future.
I think this is the most horrifying post I have ever read.
If you have time I’d recommend! There’s a really great pizza place, and lots of other cute coffee shops and restaurants
