In P.E we have been focussing on basketball, today we joined with @lauriestonp2-1.bsky.social for an end of block tournament.
It was such a success but an even bigger success was the amount of pupils nominating their peers for worker of the week. So kind and respectful 🫶🏼🏀

Today in drama we imagined we were evacuees and discussed the emotions they might have felt. We used a “conscience alley” to share our character’s thoughts and feelings about leaving our life behind, and being chosen by a new family. @lauriestonp7b.bsky.social

Practising our woodwork skills today to create the structure of our WW2 planes.

Brushing up on our multiplication skills and setting out calculations accurately.
We now have examples in our jotters to refer back to.

In drama this week, we developed our knowledge and understanding of The Blitz. P7A and @lauriestonp7b.bsky.social worked in groups to create mimed scenes focussing on three specific times… before an air raid, during the bombing, and emerging from the shelter.

In our class novel, Kofi runs a race at his school stadium. For outdoor learning we designed and created our own stadiums using loose parts and natural materials.

A great project to help schools!

We have been donated a full class set of smaller ones and a few for the adults taking the lessons.

We had a great visit to our local library last week. Thank you to Linda at Meadowbank Library for guiding us round and letting us behind the counter.

Pupils were all given a pink sign up sheet to get a library card. Please return these to school and we’ll get them made.

Starbooks is still under renovation but it was open yesterday for a Friday reading treat 💚📚☕️

National Museum of Scotland was amazing! The kids were so engrossed exploring the full place. Such a lovely day to round off our year together, finished with ice cream in Princes Street Gardens 🩵
