another thought - i’ve been listening to bts for years and years, they all have pretty distinct and unique vocals, and yet there are still points on this album where i can’t tell who is singing because it is so overproduced. everything feels so flattened.
english lyrics are all very well and good but when bts’s legacy is their lyricism and wordplay and then they’re either writing or handed songs in a language they don’t speak, all of that magic is gone
all the autotuned rapline just makes me feel like both rapline and vocal line went underutilised
i don’t knowwwwww i just don’t think it sounds like BTS and i hate how much diplo there is
like it’s not BAD but imo it feels repetitive, bland, and rushed. so many songs have the same boring drum machine beat and there is so much autotune which is more of a personal dislike but give me yoongi rapping instead of autotuned singing any day
