Compare/contrast Kyle Rittenhouse, the gun toting 17 year old teenager who went to Kenosha, WI during protests and shot 3 people, 2 of whom died, to Alex Pretti, the nurse who was shot multiple times and killed after ICE agents disarmed him and held him down because he tried to help a woman they had pepper sprayed.

So one was a "hero" and the other an "assassin".
How many more need to get killed by ICE? Do we need a Tiananmen Square in Minnesota? If it takes a massacre, it's too late.

I don't think that there is quite the same sense of peril today as there was when we were at the verge of entering WWII, nor does the US represent the same standards as we did then. In a way, it's more surreal as we witness the rise of homegrown authoritarianism
