My niece and I are autistic and completed our 5k for Autism Acceptance Month.

My sister and brother-in-law were brilliant allies.
We smashed it. Still time to donate π

Great news! The Big Soup has been selected by Kickstarter as a Project We Love.

A leading figure in horror/cult film criticism (a notoriously low-paying field) needs your support. Please help a fellow autistic.
Rather than reposting and spreading a deliberately inflammatory headline, I'd recommend at least skimming the executive summary (7 pages) of the autism/ADHD prevalence report itself.
It's not beyond criticism, but it's also not saying what The Times etc claims it does.

Thanks for clarifying. I'm not an expert, just a regular user, so hadn't heard about it.
I am sure there are lots of people would pay a little to subscribe to a really good feed, labeller, or moderation service, but there doesn't seem to be any way of doing that (perhaps by design). It seems that the decentralisation Bluesky talks about can't really happen without it.
There's also Cutter's Way. In its fourth week!
It's great to see these old movie listings, though also a bit depressing...
A sticker from ohmygollyembroidery on Etsy that says Trans Lives Are More Important Than Harry Potter.
I'd echo both the recommendation for Upstream Color and the caveat.
Drop a movie or show that traumatized you as a kid
"One of the data analysts for Netflix told me that one of the key reasons for the success at that time of Sense8 was due to the stunning number of times viewers would come to the end and watch the show again almost immediately. Some watched it end to end four or five times."
Lead singer: You'll never amount to much if you go it alone
Their response:
What age counts as a late autism diagnosis?
What Bluesky needs is the ability to add alt text to a post after it has gone viral.
It avoids all the "now with alt text" reposts.

This shows why analogue media is better than digital. There is always a chance that a lost episode on film will be found, but the ones recorded over are lost forever.

I am not an expert on languages, but I would say that they count. They may not be the official language of a country, but they are still a language (and may even be more widespread than the official ones). For instance en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cape_Ve...
Finally, a film list done properly
(with the care and attention to detail of a music challenge)
One of my favourite Bluesky accounts. Congratulations on five years.

"Autism is complex and itβs simply not possible to fit people into sub-categories, despite how much others might find it convenient."

The problem is people see "disabled" and "injured" as completely different things.
They know they can be injured - that's bad luck and can happen to anyone. That's what hospitals are for.
But they see disability as something else. It's from birth. It's benefits, not hospitals. It's other people.
Thanks for mentioning that aspect of private diagnosis. Might also be quite common.
For instance, if parents have resources to provide support "behind the scenes" rather than having to disclose to get accommodations, they can also afford a private diagnosis if they want it.
The "diagnosed but not told" autistic people tend to get forgotten in the debates within the community about masking, diagnosis, etc.
It's probably more common than we realise. We need to do more to fight the fear and embarrassment about autism that still causes parents to do it.
Only occurs on some profiles (or when getting to the profile in a certain way). I contacted Bluesky support some time ago to report it, but nothing seems to have been done.
Think it is about time realise there's a war on #Autism & #ADHD not just misinformation.
It's a active campaign to sow division and mistrust. To undermines our voice and send us back to a darker time. Noone is misinterpreting in good faith here anymore. There's enough evidence.
No thanks. As an autistic person, I find comfort and solidarity in the fact that we are all part of the same spectrum.
