Happy #PostboxSaturday from this George V wall box opposite the Kingโs Arms public house in Arundel, West Sussex. Itโs the oldest pub in town (established circa 1625) but the current building was erected in the 19th century. ๐

Yesterday was #WorldTheatreDay, so hereโs a dual aperture Edward VII pillar box on Shaftesbury Avenue in Londonโs Theatreland. With stamp prices rising (again ๐ก) itโs the perfect place to post second class mail. ๐๐ญ

I never post these Frankenstein monstrosities but it felt personal to see the trusty ERII pillar box on my local shopping parade undergoing the change this week. Frustrating, especially with a perfectly good Post Office nearby. ๐ข

Thank you so much to @helenhayes.bsky.social for hosting a #WorldBookDay debate in Westminster Hall yesterday!
She brilliantly outlined the benefits of reading for pleasure and how it can support bonding and attachment between a child and their caregiver. (1/4)
An illustration of a woman and child cuddling inside a book. Dark blue text on a yellow background says stories that connect us - the power of shared reading for children in foster care, kinship care and adoption.
It's #WorldBookDay, but did you know that reading can make a particular difference to children in kinship care, foster care and adoption?
Find out how in our new film #StoriesThatConnectUs, which features the words of real families.

It's important to write hand-written letters to your friends when you need to send them something. Ideally while doing a bit. Maybe you're a union soldier, separated from your ladylove. Maybe a hot air balloon operator.
We mustn't let the realities of today restrain the nonsense within us.
#WorldBookDay is coming! Are you planning activities in your classroom?
We've got teaching resources and activity ideas to help you champion reading this World Book Day - and meet key literacy outcomes across early years, primary and secondary.

I learned so much from facilitating
@literacy-trust.bsky.social 'Building Vocabulary' training today with a fabulously disparate group of expert delegates, where a/Apple, o/Orange and o/Oyster (one for the London commuters) were referenced. ๐๐พ

Couldnโt let the 300th #PostboxSaturday go by without a little impromptu celebration at the original postbox. Some bubbly, red velvet cake and candles! The sun came out just at the right time as well as some friendly passersby. Thanks so much to everyone for joining in over the years. ๐๐ฎ๐พ๐๐
