Well, they pretty much *literally* worked as a lighthouse keeper in the Abyss, it is their very job to be here! But looks like the Void did not like the beacon shining upon it...

That's their job. Someone has to watch the lighthouse.
But no one ever came back for them, and they were left alone with the darkness... and what lives in the darkness.
I think they had no idea what really happened.

I think most artists with good skills who post on social media (especially if interested in self-promotion) are commercial. It makes sense we are the minority, and yeah, it does feel like a social faux pas to be among them.

But for those who watch art, I think it doesn't make much of a difference.

I was once a god of my world, but recently I mostly draw Hollow Knight fanart (including my fan OCs)

The desire to bring imagined things to life is my curse, and so I follow it. There is no goal in my path, only the experience of the path itself.

I love symbolism.

I think the only way is to go back in time and completely rewrite their story... I’ve probably become too pessimistic to even *dream* of a happy and independent life for someone like them.

Ahah, I'm glad you understand! I think this is the very idea, to make you feel lost, but also wonder, explore, ask, think and grow, learning the world and yourself, while your chosen "golden child" sibling, who followed their sacred predetermined role, ends up in the most unfortunate way possible.

So... you accept what you were told to, just like the Hollow Knight, instead of having your own mind to think, reflect, and making your own choice. This is my very interpretation, no offence! It's a joke, but yes, that's also the point :'D

It was fun if not confusing to find out that the most common and accepted interpretation of the Hollow Knight is so different from my own. I don't know how I feel about it… it makes me uncertain about sharing my version, but at the same time, it also inspires me to draw more just for the sake of it.

The first and only question...

It was interesting to find out that the Hollow Knight has thoughts that aren't used in the game. It inspired me to quickly sketch my interpretation.

I'm glad you think so! The change is... significant :')
But it's also just a way to cope.

I try to at least stick to the idea that there is still sense in just drawing whatever is still fun, even if it's just simple doodles and vents. And all your art has some idea or emotion in it, even joke ones.

I feel it... I no longer even remember how I managed to draw so detailed yet so fast. Feel somewhat ashamed that I can no longer do it, but it's like that part of me just died. I miss not just energy but the very desire, and my world... but oh well.

Trying to create the Hollow Knight/Pure Vessel 3D model. This is very different from the models I made before, so I improvise... hope I will finish it!

(I like their design in how both elegant and scary it is)

Even though I mostly draw fanart just for fun, it has some deep personal meaning to me. A way to reflect on sad things in a fun way.

(I made an actual dead vessel brush just for this drawing. Now I can combine it with karma flower brush I once made for my Rain World drawing)
