Yeah the post-crash ADB-S requirement revealed what a lot of people already suspected about those units

The F-36s fly here over the OBX frequently. Seeing the stealth bombers in Missouri is cool. I have a hard time taking the "air taxi" practice in DC seriously though.

Nothing about this nightly ballet comes off directionless, purposeless, frivolous, pollutive, or wasteful said no one.

A colorful sunset looking west from the Outer Banks over the Currituck Soun Md with the silhouette of a large, gnarly tree and cattails in the foreground.

I convinced my family to gather for a spectacular sunset hours ahead of time. These clouds never, ever disappoint.

All kinds of military aircraft flying dark over DC tonight. Not normal.

If you use rodenticide or hire someone to, knock it off. All of the wildlife you're murdering leave poison spots all over the environment, gardens, and inside walls. There are more effective ways of pest control.

An update on these two: a neighbor put out rat poison and killed one, a cruel and painful death. It's partner found the body and keep returning even after I removed the body.

It's named that way because Queen Elizabeth II took a stroll there in 1991, so it should be the middle one. dcist.com/story/22/09/...

I did not know this!

I do, however, know that the apostrophe is a flashpoint for many road enthusiasts. "Proceed with caution" as they say. 🤓

Three different spellings for one block… the most DC thing today

Some echoes of mid-2020 when social order felt like it was breaking down. A lot of economic hardship now. I've talked with a lot of people lately who are miserable. Traffic can act as a reflection of who and how we are as a society. It's not great these days.

The number of—and placement of—injury crashes is different. A lot of rollovers lately. During peak travel times, crashes in places where congestion usually inhibits high speed impacts. Road rage seems worse but hard to measure; bad altercation on US-50 in Cheverly today. (3/4)

Might be too early to call it a trend but several obvious factors: gas prices, stagnating job market, federal reduction, blue collar workers (legal and illegal) scared of ICE terror; a contractor bailed on me because he didn't want his people on a roof. (2/4)

For the last few weeks, rush hour hasn't been normal. This time of year volumes should be surging. Instead, it's been flat, like mid-winter. Daily backups and congestion… yes. But trip counts on major corridors don't match March averages. (1/4)

They seem to also favor polluting over Falls Church nightly for some reason. MUSEL is the chauffeur unit that some representatives nicknamed the "air taxi" service for the privileged.

The nice thing about the daily Air Force loop-de-loops is that they're done late at night, at lower altitudes than any other helicopters, and in war Hueys which are the among the loudest invented. Thanks.

Bypassing the "it's different and I don't like change" phase... inland products are an important and overdue enhancement. It's a bit busy. Maybe eliminating one product like wind field would help?

There was a lightning strike at 10:49 PM, waves from vertical bolts hit your eardrum at once, thunder is known to be louder in winter/early spring... yet here we are again ignoring the overwhelming evidence and playing dumb on the internet because it's 2026.

It is worth taking the time to explain to these people that thunder travels far and is loud sometimes? Is it worth sitting down next to an aquarium and explaining it to a goldfish?

3) Thanks to doom scrolling, a lot of people are constantly on edge. I don't think that excuses you from forgetting basic facts of life and reasoning.

2) Sometimes I think these people are playing dumb like it's a game to them but they're actually not as helpless or incompetent as they act. I've been speculating for a while that a certain performative ilk seeks any opportunity to overreact. Others with brain rot are just confused.

9/1/2021 was an exception—live seeing the debris in camera at Rowe Blvd. I'll join the hype on-air if there's a legit danger.
