Side note: I was very surprised to find that English learners in Spain regularly mixed their pronouns too since I know Spanish has gendered pronouns unlike Chinese. Maybe it’s a feature of languages that usually drop their pronouns 🤔

Anyone take an online chinese language class and can recommend? I’ve been looking for an in-person option in my town for years and there’s simply nothing available since I don’t want private tutoring. I have flexibility in my schedule so I don’t have specific time options

Man I love #YAMG (although I have to skip all the spacey stuff on rewatch). YY’a restrained acting works amazingly well, because the show always keeps the audience needing to pay attention to understand his feelings. It holds infinite rewatch value for me because its all about their emotions
I asked my program director if he knows who you could contact to ask about the German program and I’ll let you know if he replies.
There are multiple venues and the one where I was definitely wasn’t accessible (the meeting room was up a set of stairs)
But I seem to recall the German venue at Laubach had all the meeting points on the first floor. I can’t recall if there was an upstairs for rooms or if there was an elevator
Why toast maker instead of toaster? Because it doesn’t toast things! One cannot toast a grilled cheese in the appliance. One can only insert bread to make into toast
So I decided it would make more sense to call it the toast maker, and my husband was like, “its not like the call this the microwave maker“ but I decided it would make more sense to call it the microwaver. So our appliances are renamed and I feel there is more order in the world.

I spent the last week talking in very deliberate, slow English to people practicing their English. And now I’m home with my husband and back to talking in references and shorthand almost exclusively. We would be inscrutable to an outsider.
I slept like 12 hours yesterday after I got back haha. But definitely still fatigued after a busy week and so much travel
Also constitutionally incapable of taking Ubers if it’s not extremely extremely necessary. Countable on one hand.
