LONDON CALLING

London calling but who’s listening.

Egos clash,
sarcasm wins,
clarity waits outside.

When did politics become performance
all noise, no substance.

Feathers lined,
people sidelined.

Built on care, education, unity
yet still run by the old school tie.

Sat in The Midland Hotel in Manchester, in the restaurant The French, completely drawn to the energy of the lights around me.

This wasn’t a mistake I deliberately moved the camera.

That single moment became the starting point.

CITYSCAPE STUDY — FINAL

Six pieces.
Six expressions of energy, movement and tension.

Presented in clean white frames letting each piece breathe and find its own space. Same work elevated.

These aren’t just cityscapes, they’re built from layers of emotion and rhythm.

"What do artists do all day"

Just another day in the office

In the studio today, being interviewed for our latest project Judoka in a Parka working alongside the brilliant students from the University of Cumbria.

Energy. Creativity. Stories that matter.

Great effort from everyone involved

Welcome to my world

Working in the studio today come and have a little look around

This space isn’t just where I make work, it’s where everything begins. My safe space. My creative space. A place to think, to feel, to experiment

Step inside, it’s almost like peeping into my head

War, huh… yeah.
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing.

Still true. Still relevant. Still echoing.

In a world that keeps repeating itself, maybe it’s time we listened a little closer.

H.O.P.E.

Hope is a quiet thing
not loud like victory,
but steady as breath.

It lives in the pause
between breaking and mending,
in the flicker that refuses dark.

Not a promise,
but a persistence
a small light saying, again.

A new work where canvas meets sculpture inspired by the energy of New York City.

A layered, abstract cityscape collides with a solitary, rising form like a skyscraper cutting through light and memory. Raw texture. Electric colour. Constant motion.

Figure 6

Back to contrast. Back to impact.

Black and white build a stark, fractured skyline raw, stripped down, and unapologetic. The forms feel heavier here, more compressed, like the city is closing in on itself.

Then the red breaks through.

Figure 5

A quieter kind of intensity.

Dark, towering forms rise through layers of white and grey, grounded yet unsettled. Behind them, washes of turquoise drift down the surface soft, fluid, almost atmospheric contrasting the weight of the skyline.

Figure 3

A city bursting through the noise.

Layers of colour collide deep reds, electric blues, flashes of yellow building a skyline that feels alive, unpredictable, and constantly shifting.

Figure 2

A city alive with colour and contrast.

Bold reds and warm earth tones build the skyline, layered with energy and movement, while sharp whites cut through like light breaking between buildings.

Cityscape Study a series of six individual, city-inspired pieces.

Each work stands on its own, yet together they form a striking collective narrative of urban energy and abstraction. These pieces can be sold individually or as a complete set of six the choice is yours.

Check out “What’s Your Tipple?”

As a professional artist, I’ve always believed in the importance of placing the right work in the right setting. Whether it’s a Michelin star restaurant or a locally run café, the connection between space and artwork is what brings it to life.

To be an artist
is not always to act
but to wait
Oil slows you down
holds you in the moment
refuses to be rushed
Acrylic moves faster
but still knows
when you are forcing it
The work changes
when you stop fighting
and start listening

“Do not go gentle into that good night” a powerful 1951 poem by Dylan Thomas. At its heart, it is a call to resist to fight for life with passion and intensity, rather than accept mortality quietly. It urges us to hold on, to push back, and to live with purpose.

This piece is my homage to the incredible Yves Klein a judoka and artist who redefined the relationship between body, space, and expression.

Exploring the human form as both subject and medium, this work embraces raw presence, vulnerability, and the act of creation itself.

“What a Mess”

A burning sky.
A restless sea.
And a decayed, rickety rig
clinging on in the distance.

Outdated thinking, prehistoric in nature,
yet stubbornly hard to change.

What a mess we’ve got ourselves into…
Oil dependent.

From a simple sketch to the finished piece. For me, it’s never been about the destination, it’s all about the journey. The layers, the risks, the moments it nearly falls apart and then finds its way. This piece is part of an ongoing body of work celebrating the return of the Olympics #LA28

From commission to idea to sketchbook to paint on the hands and soul in the work

Then capturing it in a photograph freezing something that once only lived in your head

And finally, placing it out into the world exhibited exposed open

Proud to have exhibited work within the Olympic Games

Sometimes the best ideas come from the next generation. Students from New York visited the studio through Art of the Olympians suggested adding a sun to my LA28 piece for the 2028 Summer Olympics.
Today I added it.
Great suggestion.
