So, I’m hoping to write a lot more features and have some fun chats with players this season. The first, of what is hopefully many, is on rising star for @angelcity.com, Kennedy Fuller.

I can’t remember a time LAFC were outright punched in the mouth like this, at home!
Own goal with a brace, one for each side in what went from a defensive chess match, to a wild and wacky offensive explosion here in LA. Goodness.
In the blink of an eye San Jose have completely turned this match on its head and have THREE goals. LAFC completely lost defensively at the moment and its most likely cost them the match.

Last time I felt this nervous and anxious over an Arsenal match, it was the UWCL final against Barca.
I’ll say now as I said then, if Arsenal play to their level, not a team in the world that can beat them. Still not sure if I’ll actually watch today though, mental health too fragile atm 😩 😭
All things considered, confident lineup.
Øde back, Hincapie over White, Eze on the wing(?), Havertz to get behind on long balls. Trossard, Gyok, and Martinelli to run against tired legs. If we can’t ambush them for a couple goals early, keep it even through 60 and could steal it.
We did it at Anfield in 89. We did it at Old Trafford in 01/02. We did it at white hart lane, twice.
While it won’t clinch the title, a win today is another statement. If ever there was a time to be the best team the world has ever seen, it’s today. COYG! ❤️ 🤍
They can definitely get the quarterfinal win for auto bids into WC, but I’d like to see them win that tournament and really make a statement.

It was a grind, gritty, physical, temperamental type of match but in the end LAFC handled business and got through. They were also to avoid the loss with a late penalty, as they continue to show they can win playing all types of ways.

Hugo Lloris is the POTM for LAFC. They’d have conceded about five without him. He’s come up huge tonight.
That’s what Japan can do. They’ve been testing PTJ all night.
I don’t believe so. Will have to double check but I think that’s just his first yellow.
Can’t get baited into the panic or retaliation, especially as we get deeper into the match and Cruz Azul get more desperate.
LAFC need to calm down. Bouanga gets a yellow that will see him suspended for leg one of semifinals(should they make it) and a penalty call results in a Cruz Azul goal. All under 20 minutes.
