Last week, I finished writing my dream web series, “The Emper Files”, a sci-fi series that touches on mental health, parental abandonment, and the follies of AI. This project has been a dream of mine for years, and I’m finally ready to bring it to life. And I want YOU to join me on this journey.

Laptop/iPad/Chargers: Electronics are a non-negotiable for me; their my life-line as a Producer. So I make sure to bring everything fully charged and ready to go before I head to set, and I always bring my chargers with me in case I need a boost throughout the day (or someone else does).

Printed Call Sheets: This is a newer addition, but adding printed call sheets to my repetoire was probably the smartest thing I've ever done. You’ve got all the important info at your fingertips. I mean locations, contacts, schedule, it’s all right there!

Fruit Snacks: It might sound small, but fruit snacks are an easy, no-fuss snack that generally keep me going in-between shots and when I haven’t had a chance to eat (another thing people need to do). They’re quick, portable, and always a mood booster! Plus they come in fun shapes.

Water Bottle: Staying hydrated is a must, especially when you're running around all day. This is something everyone (I’m looking at you crew) needs to have. No hydration = dehydration = passing out, and that’s never good when you’re managing a set.

Folders: I know, more office supplies, typical Producer. But hear me out! Having dedicated folders for receipts, contracts, and general paperwork keeps everything organized. Which doesn’t always happen on set lol.

Notebook & Pens: Not as exciting as lighting equipment or a camera, but you never know when you'll need to make a quick note in the script, write something down, or if someone will just need a pen and paper! This helps me out, as much as it helps the rest of the set.

Another amazing female producer is Christine Vachon, a leading independent producer (shout-out indie filmmakers!) with a focus on edgy, thought-provoking films. Her work on projects like Carol and Boys Don’t Cry is truly incredible.
