One of the most challenging things was to maintain continuity of when and where a zombie appears; how much damage it gets, if it gets killed etc. A lot of the zombies designs are based on crew, friends and family but there are also some cameos from zombie films that inspired us.

Well for this one it was easy because of the original frames that are all in there. From there on it’s trial and error; trying out different movements and frames until it looks right :)

Found this old traced Purple Tentacle walkcycle (with maybe a couple of extra frames thrown in there)

I don’t know how many references and nods I expected from the Mario Galaxy Movie but a plot point and almost one to one recreation of a cutscene shot from The Curse of Monkey Island wasn’t one of them.
