I’ve done a lot of science communication around vaccines, including individual conversations with family of friends during covid. The facts of the risks of death and long term illness are not convincing to many.
We may swing the other way when people start seeing these diseases again.

Freedom only exists if all are free and working together towards freedom for all.
Otherwise, you can be watching your kid die if the measles to boast someone else’s personal freedom. You’ll never personally experience freedom without all of us working together.

Anti-vax culture is anti-science and also pro-individualism.
The right’s focus on individuals over communities allows the anti-vax sentiment to align with the right & the right is more than eager to stoke the idea that individual freedoms are the ultimate freedom (1/2)
